The race organisers must be wetting themselves....these top 3 show downs are rare and sought after

However I think all 3 of the big guns will not be in top form so the race will be close ....but I think the one with the most to prove is Froome

wouldn't be surprised if another rider took it ....not Peraud as not in form according to article today

Bardet ? Kellderman ?? Van den Brook ?? Mollema ??
Or Haimer Zubeldia finally throws off the cloak of anonymity

I shall be attending stage three down here from my winter exile. :)

Probably just the start in Motril, as my sense of direction is extraordinarily crappy, and I fear that trying to find Hazallanas without GPS would be a disaster waiting to happen.
(nudge, nudge .. wink, wink should there be any locals seeing this)

Vamos Alberto!
Kom saa Valgren!

The climb from Monachil is awesome I did that a few times up to veleta. Remember looking down to the reservoir/lake and thinking what that road would be like!? Damn I wish now I'd have descended down to it.

If your lucky enough to be at that stage stay in Granada or Monachil at the hotel. It's one road up from there and you'd be at the top of the climb which you could descend down a bit. It's beautiful I'm very jealous, make the effort Carstenbf.:)

This article is in spanish, but anyway you can chose english inside, with a bad translation, but I hope you can see the union of cycling and heritage, and the importance of this edition of Vuelta a Andalucia-Ruta del Sol, and enjoy it.
(anyway I know there is a lot of spanish speakers in this forum)

I think that the ITT is very good for Contador, but I bet for Froome.

Too bad. Would've loved to see him and the dog (+ el Pistolero) fighting it out on Hazallanas! :(

That means Anton or Inxauati for leadership? Wasn't Anton scheduled to lead Movistar at the Giro? Or will Inxausti be the Giro captain once again?

Hopefully Contador (or another contrahent) is arriving in decent shape, so it won't simply be a walk in the park for Froome.

Anton isn't sheduled anymore as well. Same procedure with Rebellin at CCC.

Well, Movistar are riding three stage races next week. With Nairo out and Valve a no starter today due to illness I guess they might do a bit of re-shuffling. None of the startlists listed for Movistar are confirmed anyway.

2 years ago, I was inside on those same caravelles (your first pic of the blog post) on "Muelle de las Carabelas" near Huelva. :) Cool place, but a little bit too hot for my taste.

Trek has a very strong team for this race, they have some cards to play.

Quintana out of contention, recovering from the crash in the national championship.
Too bad he's recovering by riding 160Km from Medell?n to La Manuela (before the climb to Manizales) in 6 hours with Dayer.
And he was going to climb Letras (not sure from which side) the next day.

i am curious to see how it goes rodolfo torres
in sal luis he was one of the strongest uphill
let see if a couple of week in the cold europe have changed his level of performance ( also in europe the competition is harder...)

I don't know what to expect from this race. A big clash between the GT contenders doesn't sound realistic to me. And although Quintana's absence is a disappointing fact, I doubt it will change the way race is ridden.
Did Froome announce his racing schedule before or after Contador?
