kelderman is top 10 or even better in climbs with gradients under 7%, like col du beal, he is very good putting a strong tempo, he suffers more in steep climbs.

exactly, saw that in the giro, on the real zoncolan type of things Valverde and Rodriguez will own him a million times over. But anything like 7/8% tops and long and regular, he'll do better than expected

Tomorrow the stage will start at the same place Columbus began his first travel to the new continent, America, and will cross Do?ana, world heritage and biosphere reservoir, a natural paradise.

This year Vuelta Andalucia-southern route has not only a good startlist but a good route full of heritage and nice lanscapes.

You can read more about that here

Mollema was strong in Murcia, as well as Bardet in Almeria. Both of them must be in the fight.

Without Quintana, I think Intxausti must be leader, the ITT suit him pretty well, but with Capecchi, Anton, Gorka Izaguirre (he was really strong in Australia) they has a strong team to chose a leader.

I'm looking forward to the race, but not because of the expected showdown.
IMO, repeating the psychological warfare of previous years would be senseless. There's nothing to gain on that field anymore. They've battled each other in top shape, crap shape, GT(s), small tours... They know what they are up against.
Bluffing should be the next step in their mind games, imo.

Giant and Wanty each have one men on the front of the peloton. Tinkoff-Saxo keeping their leader safe :)

KELDERMAN, Wilco TLJ 17:37:00 +1:07:00
MOLLEMA, Bauke 17:38:30 +1:08:30
CONTADOR VELASCO, Alberto 17:40:00 +1:10:00
BARDET, Romain ALM 17:47:00 +1:17:00

LIDER 17:52:00 +1:22:00

full start order here http://www.vueltaandalucia.es/Descargas/SalidaCRI.pdf

Interestingly the last 12 :)confused:) riders start every minute instead of 30s. You've got to wonder what the idea behind that is as the start order is randomized.

Looking at the startlist Lotto-Soudal bring a great climbing team here if their riders are in top shape, I'm interested in what they're going to do!

Why would Wanty ride at the front? Just to get someone in the breaak? I can't see Napolitano still winning sprints.

Froome has picked up bonus seconds at the intermediate sprint.

where did you find that? I only saw Sky grabbed the KOM points.

and it looks as though there are no bonus seconds anyway

Lobato and Schumacher hurt in the crash. The Trek guys (Mollema, Schleck, Devolder) as well as Ten Dam, Van den Broeck and Arroyo hit the deck too. Froome and Contador were not involved.

MV= Meta volante = intermediate sprint.

It's what I read on spanish forums. Let's see if it turns out to be true.

EDIT: Seemed like a false information.

Would be hilarious if dawg thought there were bonus seconds and then sprinted/attacked to get them, only to find out it had been for naught :D

I hope the guys that went down are okay and very glad neither Alberto or Froome were involved!

La Flo you've been a great provider of info this AM. Thanks!

The KOM and MV were at the same place, so it doesn't have to be false.
