Yes, but you would think they only have about 3 climbs in Burgos. Nice racing even if the variety is a bit lacking.

I guess we'll see. Cyclingstartlists.com can be notoriously wrong too. But Tchmil can't be trusted either, I mean it could have been something as stupid as DiLuca sticking up for Pozatto and falling out of favor with Tchmil over that, I'm not even joking.

I fail to see how abusing uphill sprint finishes is in any way different from abusing flat sprint finishes.

If this was happening in many a race, then yes it would be the same.

They could have done with a flat finish at some point, maybe a flat circuit around where they were today.

But generally this race delivers.

In 2009 and 2010 we had a flat sprint stage, the San Juan del Monte finish that was stage 1 this year, a Burgos finish (usually flatter than this year, but the Castillo finish is awesome and should be retained), an ITT in '09 and a TTT in '10, and Lagunas de Neila.

There actually aren't that many long or super-difficult climbs in the Burgos area, and they've found some good ones, so it makes sense to stay with them. If they persist with the Lagunas de Neila finale, which they should, then they don't really want to break things up too much beforehand - they want some gaps, but not ones in the minutes. The Lagunas de Neila climb has been the site of one of the best stages of the year for the last 2 years.

that link to cyclingstartlist.com is indeed raising a red flag about di luca in the vuelta. yet, only 5 days ago he gave an interview that basically confirms jens attack information.

diluca is staying with katusha for 2012 so i doubt there is much tension between him and tschmil.

all said, i can't see how he will be released entirely to ride for himself when his services could be of help to purito, a hot contender in his home race of the season...
