Also 25th and 26th.

But it was a short climb (how on earth did Sastre manage to win there???) and it's not the deepest of fields with all due respect.

Of course I'm not claiming they'll tear everything apart in the climbs but I think this is their best collective performance in a "mountain stage". We'll have a better look in Lagunas de Neila.

Geox coming to life for the Vuelta as the best climbing team like they seemed in the beginning of the year?
Matxín working some magic.

There's not going to be much between JRo and Sammy (and possibly Denis). The TTT looks like it will be crucial. None of their teams look that great, but it's likely that the carrot tops will struggle.

Slightly off topic but with talk of Geox - is Duarte back racing?

Not yet. Maybe in Colombia. If not, the Vuelta will be his first race after his injury. Here is an interview with him.

I think Euskaltel will podium this TTT. They should podium, actually, and I would not be surprised at all if they won it. Oroz, Isasi, Astarloza, Sanchez: that's some very good TT riders, and Anton and Nieve will want to practice for the Vuelta. Landa is more of a climber, and I don't know whether Bilbao can do a decent TT, but they're both in good form. This is not the Tour, you know. It's not as if Topsport Vlaanderen, Androni and Andalucia are going to beat Euskaltel here.

Movistar could be pretty good in the TTT too, with Herrada, the enormo-engine that is Txente García, Lastras and Intxausti. With Pardilla just at 8" and David López on 8" too, they have a couple of guys who could feature.

what happened to Anton in today's yesterdays stage?

11 Igor Anton Hernandez (Spa) Euskaltel-Euskadi 0:00:12
12 Mikel Nieve Ituralde (Spa) Euskaltel-Euskadi 0:00:14

Not too far behind, but I don't think this climb was really their cup of tea.
Should be longer or steeper, or both :)

i think Anton could do better there but riding the climb near the 20th position didn't leave a chance to react on the Purito's attack and then having Samu in front there was no reason to fight for the third place. he's there to improve his shape before the all-season's goal unlike Samu who's in the post-Tour form and looks not too tired.

Congrats to Samu who ripped past JROD. It's just like JROD after the Giro doing the Dauphinie. JROD will be a huge threat in the Vuelta. Sanchez should win this race. Menchov however looks to be in ominous form and especially for the Vuelta. I think Katusha, Geoz and Movistar will fight it out for the TTT. Androni beat Euskatel in the TTT in the Giro remember.

I would love to see more full strength E-E teams at GT's. Maybe Nieve to do the TDF next year in support of Samu???

my goodness what a sick acceleration by purito,i've just seen the stage.that was a great finish.
Sanchez did answer it pretty easily though.

A few days ago Sanchez couldn't do the same when a certain P.Gilbert accelerated. :p

I liked his acceleration in the 2nd stage he won in the Dauphine better. He totally obliterated his competition back then.

Well, I'll be taking a Tweety avatar for two months if Solari, Santoro, Barla, Domene, out of form Rodriguez, out of form Vicioso, out of form Bertolini and out of form Ermeti beat Euskaltel in this TTT. Never going to happen.

Geox and Moviestar - maybe, Katusha - no way. Last year they won the Burgos TTT with a completely different team, they had Pozatto who's good at TTT, they had Klimov who's a TTT specialist, and they had Karpets who wasn't utterly useless at time-trials last year.
