Bashing is a very strong word Dim! I thought with there team they could of done better. not a prologue dim. They have 3 young guys but the rest are old.

When did i say bashing? you need some transitions mate.. :)

The best TTer for Sky was probably Lofkvist. I think that tells you all you need to know about the strength of Sky's team for the TTT. People have hyped them up for this stage assumign they'd have the strong roluers like at the Giro. If people had bothered to look in any detail they'dknow that wasn't the case.

htc don't have anyone who is a tt rider, lampre has nobdy that is close to being called a tt'er.

yeah and htc have none of their super time trialers.

Former 3 time word champion mick rogers- not here
Former word champion Bert Grabsch- not here
5 time italian champion Pinnoti - not here
Future word champion and 2nd in world TOny Martin - not here

they still managed to put about 4 or 5 former national/junior time trial champs or pursuiters on the team though

Are you saying - that looking at the 9 Sky riders - that you think that they are of sufficient quality to have contended for the win here?

Yeah but they have a team of strong riders. The likes of Roulsten, the Velits brothers, Sivtsov etc power their way around in a TTT. Sky are made up of less powerfull riders that HTC and, to be fair, most other teams. I'm sure they'd have expected to beat Xacebo.

A place between 10 and 5 would have been a great result.

Ouch... Rabo 3rd from last.

Pretty horrific for a team that thinks they want to win the overall. Doesn't bode well for the strength of their team as a whole.

Is a good TTTer simply the same as a good TTer though? In the TTT you have to be at the front for 10 seconds, say, and then recover for 80 seconds. Its not quite the same as maintaining a steady pace,

It's surprising, because with almost the same team, except for Menchov and Freire, they got 3d in the Burgos TTT.

I am just calling how i see it. I was making the point htc have little experince but they still put in a very good time. Sky maybe a bit less renowned in the ttt but I thought they could of done better. I'll compliment sky when I see them do a stron performance also.

I always said that. But that wont stop the Contador fanboys from going on about how Contador and Cancellara, the 2 greatest time trialers of all time will 2 man it during the tdf ttt and beat everyone by 10 minutes.
