I really hope we'll see some racing today.

But somehow I feel that the responsibles are able to even make a Angliru-stage a snoozefest.

This Vuelta feels like a chillout-zone in a disco.

This made me chuckle, from the Eurosport live ticker:

Cruelly separated on Friday by Vincenzo Nibali's crafty bonus-second sprint, British combo Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome restored their historic one-two at the top of the Vuelta standings on Saturday. So, it's official - Friggins are the new Frandy, only more explosive and exciting - and being British, infinitely more beefy and macho. Oh, and they might win something too. Blazin' Saddles: Friggins back on top

Explosive?

I suppose "Friggins" is only slightly better than "Womb"

Just some info for people but I've gone over the times for the top riders on the 4 main climbing stages so far and added their times up to see who's done the "best". Its only one statistic so you can't read too much into but I think it shows at least who's been consistent:

Time from Winner / Name / Current place on GC

26 Mollema (RAB) - 7th
45 Kessiakoff (AST) - 5th
46 Van den Broeck (OLO) - 12th
49 Menchov (GEO) - 13th
50 Zubeldia (RSH) - 10th
54 J.J. Cobo (GEO) - 8th
55 Martin (GRM) -24th
55 Wiggins (SKY) - 3rd
58 Froome (SKY) - 1st
60 W. Poels (VCD) - 23rd
61 Joa. Rodríguez (KAT) - 14th
65 Nibali (LIQ) - 4th
70 Seeldraeyers (QST) 21st
75 D. Moreno (KAT) - 19th
80 Fuglsang (LEO) - 2nd
83 Nieve (EUS) - 25th
92 C. Sørensen (SBS) - 20th
92 Monfort (LEO) - 6th
101 Kruijswijk (RAB) - 18th
101 Pardilla (MOV) - 15th
101 Bruseghin (MOV) - 11th
120 Roche (ALM) - 17th
130 Duarte (GEO) - 29th
135 S. Lagutin (VCD) - 27th
137 Scarponi (LAM) - 22nd
138 Brajkovic (RSH) - 9th
156 Zaugg (LEO) - 41st
211 Moncoutié (COF) - 34th
280 I. Antón (EUS) - 32nd

***

Anton is just there for reference :D

Updated it for the last two stages in time for Angrilu:

Time from Winner / Name / Current place on GC
54 Mollema (RAB) - 3rd
61 J.J. Cobo (GEO) - 4th
82 Wiggins (SKY) - 1st
82 W. Poels (VCD) - 17th
88 Van den Broeck (OLO) - 9th
103 Menchov (GEO) - 11th
112 Froome (SKY) - 2nd
120 Nieve (EUS) - 13th
134 Martin (GRM) - 21st
134 D. Moreno (KAT) - 10th
146 Kessiakoff (AST) - 6th
155 Pardilla (MOV) - 14th
162 Joa. Rodríguez (KAT) - 18th
173 Fuglsang (LEO) - 5th
174 Nibali (LIQ) - 7th
176 C. Sørensen (SBS) - 12th
179 Seeldraeyers (QST) - 16th
179 Monfort (LEO) - 8th
192 S. Lagutin (VCD) - 23rd
247 Roche (ALM) - 15th
265 Zaugg (LEO) - 27th
293 Bruseghin (MOV) - 19th
317 Brajkovic (RSH) - 20th
391 Sastre (GEO) - 22nd
678 Duarte (GEO) - 37th
1255 Zubeldia (RSH) - 30th

Some notes:

All times are in seconds, use maths if you want to convert. :p
"Winner" on the last couple of stages has been the nearest of these guys to the front (JRod and Cobo respectively).
Before Zubeldia's massive capitulation yesterday, he was the 4th best climber.
Mollema has gained most of his climbing seconds on Wiggins from the punchy climbs early in the race
Only Angrilu and St 18 (iirc?) will be used for comparison with climbing times, easier to judge.
From 29 riders after Stage 11 to 26 riders but I wont be including Duarte or Zubeldia any further.

Nice stats update :) Really curious how it will look tomorrow.
Also good to see 2 dutch guys in the top4.

Funny indeed. The downhill before the last climb (Angliru) can be a big surprise (narrow and technical)...
