It's a pity that such an exciting Vuelta like this one, with a fairly well designed parcours and action every day has been so amateurishly organised.

Well, it's become extremely simple: Xacobeo has to, somehow, drop Kreuziger before the bottom of the last passage of the Navacerrada.

Mosquera only loses 20+ seconds.

Even if Nibali didn't flat it's highly doubtful wether he would have gotten 1 minute on Mosquera.

The Hitch was wrong when he said Mosquera was not doing good

lol. I used the present tense at the 1st check point. I did not make a prediction. I said Mosquera is looking bad when he lost 30 seconds in the first 15km which was true. THis has absolutely nothing to do with what happens in the future.

As a matter of fact i predicted Nibali would go out to fast and he did, seeing as his 1st 3rd was better than his 2nd and his 2nd better than his 3rd.

Yeah right, you said "some guy who predicted Mosquera would lose 1 minute, bla bla not going to make it. Mosquera not doing good" after check 1. Mosquera loses only 18 seconds. And now Nibali did very good?

Nibali did very poor. Only gaining 18 seconds, flat tire or not, is not good. Even without a flat that would mean gaining 40 seconds on Mosquera. That';s even less than the 1 minute I foresaw

I don't think Nibali did very poor, he is about at his normal level I think. Mosquera just did great.

I don't think Nibali did poorly, I think Mosquera did very well. Nibali in the 10-15 range was pretty much expected, right?

The timing errors on the earlier stages were the organizers fault. The broadcast is made by a spanish broadcaster isn't it? Not the organizers fault.

But yeah, everything is so amateurish, it's painful to watch.

Yeah, but Nibali needed to do the timetrial of his life. He didn't. I said before his normal level would not be good enough to put real time into Mosquera.

They will not able to drop him, and they don't need it. Bola del Mundo is enough long to do it. Now they will so motivated like never, I think they will die for Mosquera. Saturday can be a big day for a small team.

wtf? so you disagree that Nibali did good. Just say that then. What has my earlier post got to do with it.

I think Nibali did well because of the puncture. Because he lost 20 seconds + morale and yet still managed to gain time.

We are both in the same camp here dt (the xacebo mosquera one) no need to turn on eachother.;)

Unless people lower in GC go bonkers from the start, i don't really see it happening.

The problem being we all thought Mosquera would be more Rodriguez, less Cancellara, over a flat 46km course.
It takes a real genius like Dekker Tifosi to figure it right.
I am only amazed he didn't foresee Peter Velits emergence as the new GT sensation.
His ITT was way faster than predicted by the course organisers.

A lot of you have been moaning about the fact that if Nibali wins it that he will be underserving. Well if Mosquera wins the GC because of those 15-30 seconds Nibali lost then I think that means he would be somewhat undeserving of being the overall winner too.

And now we are down to 2.

39 seconds seprates the big boys. One has a super team to help him. One has to do it all himself. I know which person in such a scenario i support :)
THis really could come down to time bonuses on the Bola.

If Mosquera can win, then he needs Purito and one other to take 12 and 8 and he will need a 19 second gap. Its doable.

Perhaps the best tactic will be to make a pact with Katusha.

Katusha work to keep break down. Purito goes with Mosquera on the Bola, paces him up the climb and gets the stage win.

That Velits result leaves a bit of a sour taste in the mouth. I was hoping he'd do well, but that sort of performance will raise a few eyebrows.

Incredibly close between 4th and 9th on GC now.
