Dumb dumb dumb kreuziger. He's by far the faster sprinter, but he sprinted to the wrong finish line and lost an easy win. His face when he realized that wasn't the finish was brilliant :D

He's the second guy to do that in this Vuelta.

Well done Deignan. Very glad that the winner is the guy I hoped for :)

And now that I remember it, Ardila did the same 4 years ago.

What's with the Vuelta and people losing stages due to misjudging the finish line?

It's Spain. Everything there is later than you expect.

How the hell did they see a 1 second gap there????

Spaniards...

Funny to see that they are really quick with the stopwatch, but less so with prosecution... :D

Ha, ha... I could see that coming. Must have been all of 2 metres.
No wonder nobody in Espana wants to even think about "him" and OP.
Stuff like this just adds to the obvious favouritism, both at the Vuelta and that 2006 sham.

Deignan is the first Irish winner of a stage in a GT since Stephen Roche in the 92 Tour, a long time coming. A stage win and Top 10 ranking, best day for Irish cycling since the Kelly/Roche era. Well done Philip, he seems to have developed a mangled Euro/Donegal accent judging by his interview. They asked him if he would go for another stage win, WTF.

Old Self

Jeebus. All Tommy D. had to do was hold out for a few more days and he would have a top ten finish. He could say he was back to his old self and would have done better if he had not gotten sick. Now what does he say?

He IS back to his old self (sick again).
