My dark horses for today are De Gendt (3rd in the TT at le tour, on a similarly spiky course), and Martinez (EF have to have some good luck at some point, right?!)

Hard to see anyone other than Roglic taking the win though...

De Gendt doesn't seem to be in his best shape, it's 3rd GT for him, maybe he's tired?

Does anyone know whether Tony Martin is a full go or if he's doing it TDF-style?

Im assuming he will take it easy with the stages coming up and Roglic most likely being in the lead after today. He is surely still pretty sore after his crash also the other day.

Maybe.

Or he has just been waiting on this stage. Wouldnt be surprised.
yesterday de Gendt cancelled his Yorkshire participation. Initially he wanted to make a decision on the 2nd rest day depending on how he feels, but as he already knew that he's not going to be good enough anyway, he informed Verbrugghe yesterday already.

Sounds more like he is very tired indeed to me

UAE plan (notice that they misspelled Pogacar) :)

And Superman Lopez doing recon on the climb.
PS: Disc brakes on a TT bike?

Tour tracker and Tissot timing don’t seem to show any intermediate time checks. Someone please tell me otherwise!

They only just started a couple of minutes ago, so no riders have reached any intermediates. Tissots site should have them

Cheers! Normally Tissot shows spaces on their page where the times will appear, but they are missing.

Two more possibilities (same site) with live timing and individual times

According to a cyclingnews article, the first 2/3 of the course is very classics-inspired. Rolling narrow roads around the Spanish vineyards. There is a lot of sharp corner where the steady rhythm can be interrupted.

It's only the last 10k which is pretty straight-forward.

It's not a ITT for the pure specialists.

I really hope MAL doesn't lose a boatload to Roglic but it seems very possible, especially given his hard crash on Sunday. I know Roglic went down as well but his appeared to be much less significant.

For me, it's just nice to see that Kiryienka is back in good condition after his health problems.
