Unfortunately we are not going to see any suicidal long range attack ( with teammates sent upfront to help with these false descending flats before the last climb) e.g. already on the second climb, doing a Full *** Vroom/Schleck/Landis... Astana has enough teammates but Superman is not flying that well (they'll just wait for Tadej cracking eventually to get at least podium). And Movi? Come on, they should stick to their game, it's more fun when they are attacking each other.

The long descent from the penultimate climb will most likely deter any early GC action unless there has been early carnage and Roglic has been isolated or one of the top 5 is on a bad day and starts to drop from the front group on an early climb.

I think a strong break will form after a big struggle to form it and that several riders will hold off the GC group and contest the stage.

Within the favourites López will certainly have a dig but hard to predict whether it will pay off.

I also would not be surprised to see Roglic looking to assist Pogacar if the race circumstances make it possible to do so.

Nice stage. Astana might be a bit gun shy after their last long range sortie. Probably comes down to the final climb. Hope Pogacar and Valverde are okay. Can't see Lopez trying a long range attack, the last few haven't worked and at the moment I would be surprised if he was able to maintain a gap over Roglic. Roglic seems in better shape than he was in the Giro, at least fresher going into the final week.

Looks to me like another day for the break. The only teams who might want to chase seem to be Astana and Movistar but they are much more likely to put strong riders into the break, especially with an equally hard stage tomorrow.

Surely Movistar will now free Soler?

I wonder how Pogacar is feeling after that tumble today.
looks like he hit his knee, so could be a bit stiff indeed today

Does anyone know what the last 500m look like once they go past the chuch / restaurant and off the main road ? From the google satellite view it looks like a narrow (and maybe unpaved) path but not sure how old that is

Movistar trying nice things, but people ridicule them because they are Movistar and no matter what they do, it's stupid.
