And what will be a problem with that?
Quintana will surely want to attack earlier, cause it looks like it is the only way he could gain time, or win a stage.
Valverde would benefit from that move cause it will put the pressure on Roglic and others to chase, and if he has legs like yesterday he will attack surely. If he doesn't then just let Quintana to try to grab some time.
Or do you think they're really racing against each other?
Quintana is 5 minutes down and not in great shape. If he joins up with teammates in the valley after the Cobertoria, Astana and UAE will chase for Roglic. He won't get 5 minutes, and Valverde wasts the last truly hard climb to drop Roglic.

If there's a place for Quintana to attack it's straight up getting into the breakaway.

Don't know, maybe you're right, although I think there will be serious gaps on La Cubilla if the Movi drops the hammer down on Cobertoria and launch Quintana. And I also think there will be some serious racing after this stage as well.

Last chance today for whoever wants to unsettle Roglic. Most likely nothing will happen, Roglic is too strong, he'll win the Vuelta rather easily. Also, second place for a 39 year old Valverde is exceptional. Hopefully Pogacar will grab his first GT podium.

Agreed. I wish at least they make him sweat a little bit. Otherwise it would be pathetic that whole climbers clique is just demolished in Grand Tour by time trialist converted from ski jumper. ;)

This man disagrees:

When he was at the age Valverde is today all he had was one top 10 in a Grand Tour. Then at 41 he was faster than Contador on Angliru. God knows how fast will Valverde climb in a few years time.

Is Tao the whole of team Ines? He seems to be in the break every day.

So far, on the 2nd big climb, nothing is happening. Riders have to be tired after the hard stages already raced, and the last big climb today is intimidating. Looks like someone from the breakaway will win the day.

I think no one can touch Movistar team classification, they can just follow wheels. :)

The "old" Quintana from a few years ago could handle the Tour/Vuelta double very well. But this year, it seems like the TDF is taking its toll on Nairo's legs. He'll do well to keep 5th place by Madrid.
