Where did you see that? Or it's just your assumption?

Here:

“It was too hard a climb for a sprinter”, Roglic joked. “I didn’t have my best day, but in the end I can’t be dissatisfied with the result. I am still in a good position overall and I am very happy with that. Of course I would have liked to gain time rather than losing it, but it is what it is. The team was again very strong and very impressive. They are all riding at a very high level. I feel sorry for Sepp, because he certainly could have won the stage. But I also want to thank him for the support in the last kilometres. Without him I would have lost more time. Now we will first enjoy the rest day and then we will focus on the time trial. We will continue to give everything to win the Vuelta. Everything is still possible in the third week.”

Not so sure. In horse racing parlance I always think he's the equivalent of a bridle-horse. Looks to be travelling easily through the race but finds rather little when let go.

We call them plodders here. Can travel smoothly and fast but no real turn of foot late.

Primoz has Tremendous turn of foot late when he's not exhausted :).

Team classification watch: Movistar lead over Jumbo cut to only 1'29". It was more than 7 minutes yesterday.
Soler had a melt down today.

The insanity part of this is that next year Movistar may be begging Valverde for one more year because a 40 year happens to still be better than the majority of the peloton. o_O

Movistar have mastered the tactic of sending 3 guys in a break to finish in the last 5 from the breakaway in the baroudeur stages, so I wouldn't worry about them.
yeah also probably all jumbo riders except for Roglic will take it easy on the tt

Cofidis are the true masters. A five man break with Cofidis having three men, their concern that they didn't want to have to defend the leader's jersey on stage 4 led them to nearly kill the break, then they managed to come 3rd, 4th and 5th from the break AND take the leader's jersey they were trying not to take.

Roglič bike was fit with a 34x30 due to technical issues he had with a 34x32 before the start this morning! No wonder he was off pace at 25%
If thats the case I dont get how this can happen. The gearing is like the one thing you cant mess up for Such a climb, it is all done well before the Start, and surely not a difficult task for an experienced mechanic. How on earth could you let the vuelta leader Start an angliru-stage with the wrong gears?

Heads should role for this. Setup should be done and tested weeks before GT starts, not on the morning of a stage.

I would expect official JV explanation.

Obviously this needs added to the curriculum of classes by pros.
