I have been very vocal about how tactically inept the management at Lotto has always been, but credit where credit's due, Movistar is right up there with them.

And to think that both have been involved in every kind of race situation for many more years than most other teams...

Well whatever Movistar have planned has begun

I do feel sorry for Richie, his season hasn't been jerked around and the support he should have been able to expect here has been completely non-existent

Awesome conditions, 'climbing into the mist' is peak Vuelta aesthetic in my opinion, hopefully the last climb will be a Horner Nibali style battle.

Look at Movistar with the teamwork!!!

what is the goal with Soler? why should anybody follow him or be interested in any way apart from the ones who want to win the stage?

Maybe Mas goes and it is to have more than one man on the gap before the finale?

It's Movistar though so...

It was his own decision. He could have stayed with Movistar and won the Vuelta together with Mas like he won the Giro together with Landa.

Really funny how right now Movistar probably wishes they would still have Carapaz while Carapaz probably wishes he would still be at Movistar...yet here we are.

That Soler attack, I don't know, putting in all that work so Soler can go for the stage win is pretty underwhelming. I mean maybe this is a set up for a Mas attack later but I honestly doubt it. The place for Mas to attack was right there where Soler did it instead. It's just a bit sad watching the penultimate stage of a gt and a team with a gc contender who has pretty much nothing to lose decides to make such an effort just to settle for a stage win.

I'm so gonna watch Spanish streams during the next Vuelta, no more Kelly vs the spanish and english languages and no more of that unbearable *** Kirby for me.

No way Mas is getting 2 minutes and a half on that final climb alone. So it is about the stage win only I think.

But, Oliveira already was in front, and they had him drop back in order to work in the peloton. So that Soler could attack, to have another guy in front... Next move will be that Soler drops back to work for Mas in the peloton.
Soler just could have gone into the breakaway too. There was no necessity whatsoever to pull such shenanigans just to go for the stage.

Just found a French stream, god that is better ... Eurosport's French commentators are so much better than those from l'Equipe TV ...
