This is a weird stage... Not enough mountains for a breakaway... Although I'm sure Jauregui will try to get KOM points, and the jersey... I just don't see it to stick away until the finish, weather depending... If it rains hard, it might survive... Otherwise, GC teams will keep control of the front... Plus, the time distances are so small in the top 10 that they'll keep riding hard up the last climb, make a small selection 20 people, or so, for a sprint. So, again, Roglic, Carapaz, maybe Chavez will steal it at the line...

If Valverde is up there on the last climb, he might try to win... I still think, he'll get one stage this year, somehow, for us oldtimers;)

That's a crappy road... Concrete blocks... I'm glad it's only on the uphill... Luckily, the downhill looks tricky but butter smooth pavement;)
Actually they talk of how smooth is the concrete on the climb. It has good grip and less rolling resistance than the rough tarmac so frequent in small mountain roads.

The results from 2014, when the stage finished at the summit of this climb, instead of going downhill. Fabio Aru took the win, and we saw Froome struggling but limiting his losses.

Aru, Purito, Alberto, Froome. Six years ago and yet it feels like a different era.

That final climb and descent deserces to be in a third week. I expect some gc gaps but nothing huge. More or less a repeat of today

I think mostly the descent is too shallow for much to happen other than a pretty standard selection of about 10-20 guys.

That's good then... Maybe it's a different kind that I'm used to... Still, I don't like wet concrete. Hope it doesn't rain;)

Roglic is once again the number 1 favourite for this stage. Valverde and Dan Martin also have good chances

Could be more time gaps or a larger group of favorites could finish together.

if that’s the case then unfortunately Enric Mas won’t win this bike race again. Finished 6th of 6th in the final sprint again today. Although he did outsprint Superman one time, but that was uphill.
