Mal needs to attack Mas for 2nd place (and attack a few spectators). He needs to make it look like he's attacking Roglic, get Roglic to follow and share the work and then Mal outsprints Roglic for the stage win, 2nd place and the combativity award. Tactics. Up here for thinking, down there for dancing.

So he needs to find a spectator who looks like Roglic? :D

Looking through the start list for potential winners and there are so many drop outs in this race now.

I would love to see Mikel Nieve get a chance today. And what happened to Aru?

He got in the break yesterday but the break was reeled in pretty quickly.
Will try again.

Grisha hinted on Rogla wanting to win this stage.

What did he say?

I mean with Movistar & Ineos so depleted, it's up to Bahrain & Jumbo to control the race. And that final climb is so so brutal, a breakaway without the right climbers will be doomed (even with 4 minutes at the bottom of the climb).

Reading Spanish press I usually see the spelling Gamoniteiro, but in English press we find Gamoniteiru, is this Asturian? Does someone local knows about this?

Grisha hinted on Rogla wanting to win this stage.

Why Grisha hinted on Rogla wanting to win this stage?
Roglič still doesn't have a GT stage victory in the leader's jersey! He has already 14 victories on the GT stages, he wore the leader's jersey for 27 days ( 5 days pink on the Giro 2019, 11 days red on the Vuelta 2019, 11 days yellow on the Tour 2020, 12 days on the Vuelta 2020 and 6 days on this year's Vuelta) and still has no stage victory in a leaders jersey!

2021 tour de france was the only grand tour roglic did where he didn't win the stage. Incredible record.

Yes. A lot of the locations are being rendered in the local vernacular this year, and although not linguistically as disparate as e.g. Galego, Asturianu does have some orthographic conventions so locations can be rendered in it. We've seen it before, such as Cuitu Negru and Jitu d'Escarandí (the -u suffix where you might expect -o is common in Asturianu) and some climbs not common in races are known almost exclusively by their local name, such as Cuchu Puercu (Collado Puerco).

I'm a linguist myself, and while not a specialist in romance languages, I find the names of the climbs usually very interesting, always in an arcane dialect: Tourmalet, Zoncolan, etc.
