As a final Grand Tour stage, time trial is exciting when there is something to play for. But when the most important things have been settled it's way worse than parade before eventual mass sprint for the stage win.
I would honestly have 0 problems if they did a TT as stage 21a then a 50km criterium as stage 21b.

I would do it like in cross country skiing. First a time trial, then a pursuit with the starting time differences as they were in the timetrial.

De la cruz could pass G. Martin for 8th overall, exciting gc action.

Odd Christian eiking can make a top 10.

When I looked at the GC I thought Eiking could thriumphally return to top-10, and it would be kinda poetic to happen. But I looked at his TT results and they're abismal, 147 at the first TT, in the Volta ao Algarve he lost 10 GC places at the TT. It's horrendous, far worse than anything MAL or Quintana ever did. Grossschartner is also a very decent TT'er.

Yeah, but in revenge we had all the big action yesterday with Lopez crumbling completely. Hence why today there likely won't be any major changes in the general classification standings!

A podium of robots and the entertaining riders end up in an anonymous 6th place and dnf. Goodbye Vuelta, it's been a blast.

I saw one in Tour of Britain a few years back. I think they put it in just so Londoners could watch Wiggins win something at home

Yes, I assume so. :D It's just that if I made such a sheet I wouldn't bother with the numbers - so I suppose he's either just very diligent or they have some real meaning to him.

The numbers of the riders who are in the break, he probaly writes down during the stage. It wouldn't surpise me if he isn't the best at recognising riders from their faces or statures alone though. Not that I'm always very good at that either.

Considering that it's the top-10 of each stage, he kinda has to wait until after the stages.

He also lists the the riders in the (major) breaks on the stages. It is a bit wierd that he has written "174 pulls out instead of López and 44 and 45 instead of Haig and Mäder, but it does take up less space.

I can just see the names in the top-10s.
