I hope people got the joke, i.e. he was referencing the world championship TT in 2019 where Rohan Dennis won & passed Roglic on the line (despite the fact Roglic had started 3 minutes prior).

There's a photo of Dennis raising his arms as he crosses the line & a dejected Roglic is right next to him.

Haha yes that was gold, I actually though he was serious for a while and that the newly signed Dennis is actually teaching him sprints. :D

Nice victory for Roglic, his 3rd Vuelta. First time he did not lose time on a final weekend in a GT.

Sadly, Bernal clearly wasn‘t at his best, all these three weeks.

Of course, Roglic now will try to win the Tour in 2022. Normally, it should be Roglic vs Bernal for 2nd place in the Tour 2022. Roglic will have problems beating Pogacar, in 2022, and also the years after: Pogacar is slightly stronger in the mountains, slightly stronger in the ITT, slightly stronger on the flats/in the sprints, and stronger concerning bike handling skills.

I have got a feeling that Pogacar will try to be the first to win six TdF, so Roglic might be too old when Pogacar turns his attention to Giro and Vuelta.

Nice palmares now for Roglic: three Vueltas, Olympic champion, second in the Tour, third in the Giro, stages in all GTs, and some nice victories more...

Alright, @Lequack! Over to you. I'm expecting lots of pictures of that pilgrim get-up.

He is but a modest shepard

In the mountains Pogačar has a slight edge, but in the TT I would say this year Roglič was better - in the Tour he wa 7th, but that was an injured Roglič. He won 4 other TTs (including olympic one) and finished 3rd in Paris-Nice. I would say in a staight mountain/TT shootout they are very evenly matched. Pogi has the advantage of being a better peloton rider, reads situation better sometimes and is amazing in bad weather, long hard endurance stages. While Roglič has a better team. Without the crash this year I believe the Tour would be VERY close. The Pogi raid in the Alps would probably not succeed - or at lest not to such extent. And if Vingegaard could drop Pogačar by 40 seconds on Ventoux - well, I wonder what Rogla could do. Unfortunatelly we will never know.

Guys the Vuelta is nice and all but I'm just so happy to talk Pog vs Rog the next 10 months.

I agree... I hope it doesn‘t end like the pleasure of cheering for Ullrich or Basso after 2005... Just when 2006 arrived, before it started, all ended. In case of Pogacar vs Roglic in the TdF, I now fear Primoz‘ (too) many crashes and injuries during the season could prevent a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and so on, battle of these two. Now that people noticed that Primoz lacks bike handling skills, they could use this to make him lose, I fear (never a problem in relaxed Vuelta, but a huge problem in super- hectic Tour).

Great race..lots of surprises..lots of positive racing w some chances taken, lots of attacking..Roglic dominated..and the sportsmanship was outstanding..Lopez was a wet blanket by given up..not the best coverage but it certainly was not the worst I have seen

Very dominant performance from Roglic for the entire 3 weeks.

Could have won at least 7 stages which would have been a level by a GC winner not seen since Hinault.

Mas rode his best ever race but he just isn’t a winner and will be heavily reliant on getting a Grand Tour that the Slovenians skip in order to ever win one.

How does one beat Roglic in the Vuelta ? The race seems tailor made for him. Glad Haig hung on for third and his team offered great support but Yates dilly dallying on the previous stage has cost him a podium. I'm convinced that if he pushed on with his attacks he would have made enough time on Haig to make the podium.

Pretty amazing performances by Magnus Cort and Arensman to be honest. I think me and everybody else expected Roglič to win the ITT, but I didn't believe Cort could have come so close to him on such a hilly TT course. And not many (if anyone at all) thought Arensman could have podiumed today I think.

Cort really is on form of his life. One of the biggest contenders for the WCRR in my opinion. Hopefully he holds the form until the race.

Congratulations to Primož Roglič for taking the stage win and overall.

Was enjoyable TT to watch. Primož almost taking that right turn ... To remind us all on how easily everything can change on a GT race. This for sure was his most dominant performance on a GT race ever. Completely different Primož and style of racing compared to Giro 2019 and onward. It was a fast paced GT and all the main favourites were there. I doubt Pogačar would win this one if he would decide to participate. He was too drained after Olympics and Roglič was just too strong. Looking forward to see the duo back in action on some future GT race.

Thank you Spain, JV team and all people that participated in making this hat-trick happen. It's something we the fans can cherish in this strange times we live in ATM.

Chapeau!
