My tolerance for a sprint stage with zero obstacles to even encourage late attacks/make the sprinters work for a shot at a stage win is nonexistent on a middle Saturday. Put it after a big mountains block on a random Wednesday and it would be somewhat ok.

What makes it worse is that the Vuelta does not even have an elite sprint field, instead we have the 2nd string for Alpecin Fenix vs the 3rd string for DQS vs a way off form Demare and a bunch of guys for whom a top 5 finish is still a notable result.

I'm starting to wonder if Jasper might be faster than Merlier.

Nice, no crash

They had people/spectators standing on the road median, practically on the racing lanes, for kilometers. One false step/trip, one carelessly positioned bag, and there could easily have been carnage. I was surprised, and very relieved, that it didn't happen.

I will say as of now he’s able to get through one and now two GTs better.
