Yates & Sivakov will be in a WTF mood right now.

to be fair, we don't know if they even did the viral load test. The Ineos Tweet sounds like they pulled him out regardless, because of their own internal policies. And Yates was sick anyway.

But Herrada indicates that there's no viral load result for Ayuso yet, and he still is allowed to continue, which would not be correct of course

Apparently low viral load.

Here in belgium they reported Ayuso can keep riding because he is asymptomatic, but he was sick/not feeling well a few days ago.

Could be he had Covid and is over it, but is just starting to test positive (or barely positive), especially with light loads it barely shows up in a self test.

He is one lucky guy, or UAE is playing with it... In any case if others in the GC get covid in the next days...

Seriously I don’t know what to think about it. Higher viral load, lower viral load, it just doesn’t seem right to have such a young rider keeping doing efforts while fighting an infection. We simply don’t know what type of consequences it will bring to him.

What does his age have to do with it? I thought the younger you were, the less you were affected by Covid.

probably means that Ayuso could have outsprinted or even dropped Evenepoel on yesterday's finish. if healthy. Unreal.

Unless Remco has COVID, too, and they keep it quiet (like with Pog at the Tour - allegedly)
Wait, they're allegedly sweeping Covid-19 positives under the carpet even nowadays?

Lance Armstrong should be rehabilitated! Welcome him back as Eurosport expert instead of this new clueless clowns.

While they are less affected, their immune system is also more active, But this gives you a higher chance of cardiac problems when stress loading the heart. (same is true for flu and other virusses). Typical advice is to not do high intensity during such an illness.
Now i suppose these riders are well monitored but still. (Now this is probably true for most of the peleton. Maybe only Valverde is safer in that area i think :p)
