According to the stage overview, there were six flat stages in the Tour, and there are nine in the Vuelta (including TT's).

I don't know why the Vuelta so often has a rather weak selection of sprinters. But it was a good thing for Magnus Cort some years ago, as it helped him to victories and more self-confidence.

Uh okay, so where was I wrong?

There are definitely not nine flat stages in the Vuelta...

Edit: Okay, I did forget Wednesday's stage to Cabo de Gata, sorry. But I still don't think the difference is that big.

Congratulations to Mads Pedersen for winning the stage.

I always wondered on how a proper race through olive roads would look like. Sprinters controlled the stage perfectly. JV and Roglič must be feeling OK. Now off to the weekend and to the party.

Jolly good. Is this forum just a mere teenager?
I remember following CN articles back from the Bill's Sports Page transformation days, I'd sworn the forum part was older.

The old website (which you can find at autobus.cyclingnews.com) was discontinued in June 2009 (which was a pity given how it was much, much more easy to navigate albeit less pretty than the current one) and was replaced by the current website which I am quite sure coincided with the inception of the forum.

That’s interesting—I was lurking during races in 2010 and the forum participation was so robust that I assumed it had been functioning for years. It certainly must have grown quickly between March 09 and springs classics season in 2010.
