I love how riders who constantly fail like Yates, Landa and Pinot achieve mythical status for all the things they might have been able to do if all the things that didn't happen did and if all the things that did happen didn't. Even with Roglic. Outside of Stage 14, he's been complete outclassed by Evenepoel. And all along everyone knew that the horrible course design meant nothing will happen in GC after Sierra Nevada. Yet, after nothing happens this week, people will fantasize that race would have been different if Roglic was here and still whine that the GC rider who made the biggest time difference on the queen stage doesn't attack enough.

I fantasise about Richie Porte on an almost nightly basis.

The current state of the race is boring as ***, of course people would rather talk about what might've been.

At least Yates was able to win a Vuelta and very close to beat Dumoulin and Froome in the Giro. But you are right. For different reasons, I would like to add Bernal, because he is not close to the level of Roglic, Pogi and Jonas but people love to put them in the same category.

I don't hear anyone saying that Roglic or Yates would have won the race but they would have added something to the mountain stages. Mentioning Pinot at all just sounds strange, as he is barely doing enough to keep a contract. Kind of like Froome without the four Tour wins. Landa as inconsistent as he is still was good enough to podium the Giro. Yates and Roglic have the same problem these days, they crash too much and DNF too often. I want to see Roglic ride the Giro next season as I don't think he will ever win the Tour. Maybe he will go against Hindley and Carapaz if they miss the Tour as well. Might depend on what happens with Bernal re Carapaz's choice of race. and TGH hasn't shown much in grand tours since his Giro win. Maybe O'Connor should also ride the Giro but being on a French team might make that unlikely although Pinot had one attempt.

In the shower?

Don't be ridiculous. Richie was never very fond of wet conditions.

Besides, the shower is really a place for singing (or rapping), as we all know. So I like to zone out about cool Astana riders; perhaps I briefly ponder being one of Fuglsang's husbands....I mean teammates.

And I'm in the shower, it's wet, Astana is on my mind....

So you know who else I'm thinking of.

It's not the Vino option.

The first attempt at a break didn’t work, but that is to be expected, as Sepp Kuss is definitely out of the race.

Amazing comeback from Kuss

Hopefully it’s like Ayuso’s and have no effect on him.
looks unlikely, unfortunately
