the only chance of this to be remotely interesting is if people in the top-6 attack from the start in a do or die fashion

chance of that happening 0

Rodriguez still in the race? He really looked like a mummy in that ripped white Spanish jersey and the bandages yesterday. Still surprised he even finished the stage

Breakaway day this time. No GC fight, they will save remnants of energy for tomorrow, the last important day of the race.

Either breakaway or 40-50 man sprint. I think the idea is not even that bad but with the climbs being that easy on the gradient side, slipstream will matter way too much to get significant gaps.

It's a real shame for him. He deserves his spot in GC. Hope he can hang on though i still root for Almeida. The problem is that he seemed to have been fading a bit even before his crash. If today and tomorrow are raced hard, he could lose minutes.

Two Euskaltel riders go on the attack when the break has over three minutes. And they are losing time to the three in front. The mind boggles.

How about Lawson Craddock - This was always the stage which suited his characteristics, yet he's wasted time in other breaks, and misses this break and is chasing alone. Hope he has good legs.

looks like Trek wants a sprint, but not sure they'll get much help to bring it (and keep this) together

Real pre season friendly vibes on this stage

The muted atmosphere reminds me a bit of that shortened post-landslide stage that Movistar managed to stuff up.

Surely other teams are not going to allow Pedersen a free ride to outsprint them at the finish??? They ain’t that stupid, surely?

Why not - It depends on who is there at the final - If Ackermann, Van Poppel and Groves survive then he's not the favourite.

They could have skip the return to Talavera of the Queen and do two more loops through the climb without increasing the stage length.
