Glad for Meintjes. Deserves such success.

Looks like Evenepoel pushed just a little bit over the limit despite dominating.
Those behind managed to close the gap to him a bit at the end.

People acting surprised Remco is capable of this, a very similar effort to CSS where he murdered everyone equally as much as today. Not really surprising that the other teams dont want to chip in and help Remco secure stage after stage.

Must feel bad for Remco, being the best climber 3 days in a row, and not a stage to show for it. I mean, he will win the ITT, but still...
I would not worry about the stages for the time being. But I think he is riding smart so far. Today he had to go deep before the rest day and the TT. After the TT we might see only a race between Remco, Roglic and one of the Spaniards (whoever does the best TT). It is almost like he needs to play defensive for the rest of the Vuelta which is a very good thing for a young rider with no experience in GT's like him.

I am impressed at the young Spaniards. Before the Vuelta we were not sure what to expect but now Spain has someone to cheer for.

QS has a pretty good support team for this particular Vuelta. Having Alaf to lead that final cat 3 and descent safely was a great move -- he dropped a bunch of riders. Not sure what Ilan can really do but with Remco's shape it didn't matter today.

As I noted in another thread, at first I was surprised at what I thought was the poor form from a bunch of decent riders -- Hindley, Higueta, Carapaz, Sivakov, Yates, O'Connor, Almeida etc -- but it really does seem that Remco is just on another level right now. "Riding yourself into shape" isn't an option when you're just struggling to limit losses....

All in all not a particularly interesting stage without Kuss :)...if he was healthy he'd have stayed with Remco, I think...
