Chapeau Samamba - today's winner! (and Mas & Remco) - DSM to defend the jersey, which I suppose will be for a few days.

Yes, but its literally DARKNESS. You cannot control the rain, but you definitely can control when it gets dark. My god this is amateurish

It's probably a lot darker than it would have been without the rain and cloud so it's partially the weather too

Why does Evenepoel insist on making it so difficult to like him.

Watch his press conference pre Vuelta and he is funny and humble and very frank. And full of honest respect and admiration for Pog, Rog, Vingo and VDP. Almost impossible not to like.

He’s a competitor. Judging him on a hot second after racing in pitch darkness is just silly.

It isn’t about the rain. He rightly says it’s stupid to delay start until the freakin evening. And in the interview he made total sense. Can u deny it. Storm at night means they are basically racing in utter darkness.

The change in light was drastic.

movistar and quickstep were robbed of a proper fight for the stage. they dont have to start at midday but even 1 hour earlier, at 5pm instead of 6pm, it would still be cool but not getting dark.

riders should be prepared to race in the rain but not being able to see in the dark is too dangerouse

Yeah, this was a bad idea, but it balanced out the buff that Movistar riders get in TTs on Spanish soil.

I guess the rain really helped to make it much darker than it would be normally. But you are right, they should have thought about that.
Yes of course, but you know there's a possibility of rain. Its the easiest thing in the world to just do it 1 hour earlier.

This is absolutely NOT something that you can defend no matter how you look at it IMO.

Movistar just got robbed.

He won every GT stage he’s ridden.

Compare and contrast his words with Thomas who is a gentleman
I honestly didn't know Thomas started exactly the same time (and thus darkness) as Evenepoel. Is Evenepoel already signed by Ineos?

SQS finished at 20.31, that's sunset time. The extra 15-20 minutes Ineos had before sunset, makes a massive difference in terms of daylight.
Look it up. https://www.timeanddate.com/sun/spain/barcelona
