That was like Van Aert today in Tour of Britain. Pedersen and Van Aert were both part of a sprinter team setup which they left a few hundred meters from the finish line. So it wasn't like a classic Skibby/Ekimov attack. :)

Okay, Pedersen may have been part of a sprint setup but he didn't play the same role as Van Aert at all. I don't think those two examples are comparable at all. Pedersen's win there was very similar to Cancellara's in Compiègne. I don't think being part of a sprint setup is a disqualifying factor...

Tuned in, however tuning out again, betting that I'll be able to do a training ride in beautiful weather before grill party. Maybe tonite I'll watch final 400 meters.
OK admit I got teased just before the mark when Bahrain way too late decided to make some cross wind maneuvres.
Imressive sprint by Groves. Now I've rewatched it twice and hits me how close to the finish line his pedal issues begins/jumps out of both, and ability hereafter to show that he's just a level above.
*edit* would love to see him against all the big guns in Le Tour next year.

Did not expect this about Ólvega -
From the Road Book - Más de 300 deportistas participan anualmente en la prueba de la Copa de España
de Mushing (carreras con trineos de perros) que se disputa en Ólvega
Google translate gives us -
More than 300 athletes participate annually in the test of the Spanish Cup of Mushing (races with dog sleds) that takes place in Ólvega.

If you like dogs and bikes why not combine them?! From

Maybe an idea for the man they call "Froome Dog"

Congratulations to Juan Sebastián Molano Benavides for winning the sprint.

Was rather intense finale and luckily no big crashes involved. Rogla going for a couple of bonus seconds made sense today. He doesn't need much more hence likely to try something similar tomorrow. Other riders can meanwhile attack Kuss. If desired.

Yeah, but that isn't going to happen.
