reaches for the win to honor his best friend who is constantly monitoring him out of trouble on the big tours and with him 90% of the time
I had to check and was surprised to find that they ain’t been riding that much together, but it’s not so strange when you consider that Nathan is a classics rider.

This year the Tour, Dauphine and Paris-Nice together, which means Jonas been alone in Gran Camino, Itulzia and the Vuelta.
Last season they only did the Tour together.
In 2021 and 2020 it seems they had 0 common race days.

I’m not trying to imply anything I just sometimes get a need to check out things like this and post it because maybe someone else are also interested.

Jonas has basically been cleaned to Nathan's wheel in his two first Tour de France victories at every time apart from the times the road went uphill.

That stuff creates a bond. Especially when Nathan is, by far, the best in the world at just that.

That'd make for an incredibly dull Angliru or an exceptional strong Primoz.

The best tactic for me should just be to drill the *** out of Angliru and let Jonas go and Kuss and Roglic to sit behind, mark and go if they can. Which I think is a big if against Ayuso and especially Mas on Angliru who I expect to be the second strongest.

Well then it might just be a repeat of today's race and Tourmalet. I still think they will prioritise Roglič. because he's the one who has benefited the least from the current GC situation so far, and he also has some unfinished business with the climb. But we'll see what happens.

Though it's a Danish video (second video below), and most of it are in weeping crying tears from Vingegaard that cant hold the tears back' when talking about Nathan and what he means to him.

As far as I can tell, it was a heart attack while driving that caused the crash - but both his pregnant wife and unborn child seem to be okay.
So far, the doctors haven't found signs of severe brain damage from the critical phase, before being revived, atm Nathan is placed in a coma and no doubt the Jumbo Visma achievement today will be one of the first things, his teammates hope to pass on, when he hopefully gets out of coma and they all use the spotlight to put their thought on their teammate and that "spotlight" was one of the big reasons they so badly wanted the stage today...

Can't see Roglic winning on a climb like that, especially after today's "weak" attack where he couldn't drop Mas, Ayuso or Kuss.

I think it's a stage where Jonas kills any doubt and wins this Vuelta.
Primož saving himself for tomorrow - why not, eyh?
Apart from that. All post interviews since 2nd week he gives the impression of an indeed exhausted Primož just hoping it's soon over.

I'm just clinging to the straw that it's not true, just saving energy, and he'll give the other guys a heck of a ride tomorrow.

If I put on my my more realistic glasses, I think it depends more on how much Mas and Ayuso have to offer tomorrow.
And, in addition, just hope that Jonas returns to his humble role - where I think that at least it's not the TJV DSs that stress him - and Kuss is up for grabs again tomorrow, but last 2K's of today is leaving me in doubt.

If I'm going to put on my 3rd set of glasses, I have to admit that I also have to deal with what I read in the gossip magazines. About the fact that it is Trine, Jonas's wife, who make decisions at home in the end. And she has a bold dream that Jonas will win all 3 GTs in one year.

And, so that it will again just be a story about a man basicly willing to do anything to keep things within the house at peace, fulfilling his wive's wish. And backed up by just tiny cracks of both Rogla and Kuss today.

Exactly. Which guarantees the win. Don't think or hope they will get cute with it. Jonas is their best card, and should therefore secure the victory.

When asked if he (Vingegaard) was going to try and take red from his teammate Kuss on tomorrow's brutally tough mountain stage after todays stage.

Sounds like Vingegaard is going all in tomorrow to move into red.

There was no way he was ever going into this final week just sitting with Kuss, he is here for the win, it’s over, tomorrow Jonas is in red and he keeps it until Sunday.

Unless it's strictly necessary, I would find it to be a ducky move if the team purposely takes the win away from Kuss, no matter who strongest guy actually is, but that might just be me.
I can see your arguments (and many others), but after today, I think that's the play. You wanna be cutthroat and if that means youre increasing the odds of victory from, say 97% to 99,5%, I say go for it.

True, but one might also say that Jonas attack today took the odds from 97% to 95% (before it became apparent there would be no UAE chase).
What if Ayuso was able to follow while Sepp dropped

Today's outcome is what I expected from Vingegaard, if he had the legs. Otherwise, what? He and Roglic try to pace Kuss home and Kuss still loses 15-20 seconds, while another team gets the win. I'm sure Kuss and Roglic are unhappy but Vingegaard is easily the strongest rider in this Vuelta right now.

I was about getting an idea of similar investigations, so thanks for the work of overview.
And I'm not trying to insinuate anything neither, but ofcourse they can still be "best friends". Even if I add the fact that Nathan has team mates living closer to him than Jonas. Or maybe it's just old oddball analogue me not understanding digital revolution is here (*edit* ditched my smiley, feeling quite improper speaking today's morning news, though later a bit of better news).

Today seemed to be more of the tactics that bought Vindegaard into the top three. Only today, UAE's favorites all sat on Vingo's attack. When Roglic went he was aware of Kuss's position and dialed back to keep him in the GC picture, IMO. That Vingo had 50+ seconds before he set out was reminiscent of Jona's last stage win where Kuss cut the gap to 30 seconds and Roglic took back almost the same amount. The difference today was Kuss not having what it took and Vindegaard following through with a similar effort. It doesn't really project what may happen tomorrow except he looks spent after each of these stage wins.
JV can't control everything their opponents do; particularly when they do almost nothing.

That Chewbacca user.. is fuming, and gets triggered at every corner, just like I witnessed a few days ago, on the other stage where things didn't unfold as he wanted
Some people haven't learned the aspect of disagreeing and will in lack of better jump to personal attacks / stigmatizing name-calling with all the worst things their mind can comprehend, or simply try to attack the grammar, and punctuation for a non-native English-speaking-user.in lack of valid arguments.

Hopefully, such people will grow out of it, otherwise, they tend to end up very lonely.
Yeah, well, that's just fadom in a nut shell, isn't it? People will go to length finding reasons to cope whatever.
Earlier this year Vingegaard was an extreme boring wheelsucker without emotion.
Now, when Vingegaard attacks from far out and shows emotion, all the comments about him will sound different.
Skeletor! Riding for memory of x! Skeletor will ride for cousin's uncle! etc
And it's even some of the same users writing all this crap. It is predictably, really.
