What is it with riders riding for a top 2 spot? If I was in his situation and you know it will be place 1 to 5, why don’t you do anything what will give you the most chance to 1. I don’t care if I was 2nd or 5th.
You just knew it would end up like Politt in the Omloop. Don’t get this.

Or teams don’t wanting to do everything to get in the break, we all knew this would end up like this. Or the teams with Wout in the break. Don’t work and try another break where you have more chance.

Yeah, *you* don't care if you would get 2nd or 5th, but I'm guessing that for Pacher, that actually does make a difference. He's 32, he'll take what he can get. Also, he probably figured that if he started 'playing it smart', Van Aert would get annoyed after a while and just drop him. I'm not saying it was perfect, but getting more than second here was almost impossible in this situation.

Belgian pozzato shamelessly resorting to buying the services of other riders to help him win mickey mouse transition stages in the Vuelta, stages where Marc Soler is the only other rider trying to win.

This is a clear and obvious sign of desperation for small wins and indicative of his current status in the world cycling.

After blatantly applying an illegal chain lube to win e3 last year, on camera, I would never thought he could stoop to new lows

Shame on you quinten pascher.
I don't know if English is your first language, in American dialect, any rider, team director or race officials that would have an issue with chain lube being the difference in winning and losing is a petty punk. If you went to judges table filing a protest to DQ a rider for illegal lube the laughter would be loud and long lasting. That kind of protest would follow a rider forever!! Right up there w I got beat because the guy had illegal aero socks or shoe covers!!

Can't wait for van aert to return the favour by working tirelessly to gift Roubaix to pascher next spring. Masterclass tactics by the francois

For your information, he finished second in a Vuelta stage two years ago as well and was in tears at falling short of the win.
