I get your point, and I dont necessarily disagree btw. Simultaneously, I usually never knock anyone for trying I mean, youve got to respect it.

Ultimately, trying even when the odds are against you is fine, Vine also shreeded alot of Visma guys.. That said, I wouldn't object to your idea either. It's potatoes, potatos to me as long as they try its hard to blame them if anyone just better imo.
It's sort of weird in my opinion.. Being from America I don't remember the exact time frame when participation trophies became a thing.. But I didn't, don't really accept all the trying stuff. Quinn Simmons walked from the TDF after shooting himself in the foot almost daily, doing whacky efforts off the front, not for any results, no stage wins ,absolutely zero, but somehow he and his legion of fans made a new unrecognized award for trying really hard..TDF fan award for participating.. Not winning but being really showy and wasting massive energy in a 3 week race..going off the front like a Cat5 in office park crit..
