I'm not surprised Vingegaard isn't going to the World Championship. World Championships are much more offensive than GT .
I was thinking the same way too passive for my liking. But then again, Jonas wasn’t able to do anything anywhere, so he probably had more than enough and was at his limit. Then I can’t really criticize him for being passive today.

But seriously impressive ride by Almeida in the front all the time, impressive.

pacing better than Riccitello and Pellizzari. catching them
It seems like pellizzari is reluctant to help riccotello as competitor in white jersey and bc hindley is up the road, I think he could have gone a bit faster, you saw him drop the hammer at the very end but not enough road left to gain much ground.

We're lucky there's no separation between the two upfront, we would have missed it since the director decided to keep equal coverage time among the four groups. Cycling...

Jonas wanted to win today ....He just did not have the legs
no gifts and no wheel sucking ...he didn't have it
He couldn't pass Almeida when they got to short flat skinny finish.. The idea that he had something left after staying in front of Vingegaard was astonishing!

Guys, tell yourselves whatever you need to tell yourselves, but Jonas was never in danger of getting dropped. Jonas is still the strongest rider in the race. Cope.

That is true but was Ameida awarded bonus seconds for first place? Were any available in the race?

Not sure he has enough to break Vingo. Certainly not enough team. If he’d unpinned Vingo today the team would have had to focus on Almeida.
He has a team, but they're on the breakaways. If Ayuso had helped the day Vingegaard won, Almeida would surely have wasted less time.

I'm not sure that was a gift, you can't really come round there
You would take it earlier than on the last high-speed flat, but even though Jonas wanted to win this stage, he is also a double TDF winner, and got a decent lead on the ranking, and it could likely have rubbed some characters the wrong way if he dropped Almeida to land the stage and perhaps only a few seconds of gain...

The right result in my book, even though I would have loved to see some more action, but then again, it was only those two.
Almeida went all in, and deserved the stage. Impressive pace.
