Is today the day for the 40 man break? Tomorrow's an easier sprint stage so let's hope some guys throw caution to the wind.
the first climb starts with 6k at almost 8% average, so it will probably need some climbing skills to make the break. It should normally be strong, but I don't think it'll be super large.

Visma would be stupid not to try something here. They normally love setting up satellite riders and the terrain as well as the opposition is perfectly suited here.
It doesn't work against Pogacar because he has no problems closing down Vingegaard immediately but we know Almeida refuses to spike his watts and it has backfired before.
Have Vingegaard attack on the lower slopes of Ampriu and set up a teammate that toes him on the lower gradients later.

Of course you could just wait until Angliru etc but better to take time early when you have the opportunity.

Will Vine be in the break again? Lets hope there are stronger climbers in the break.
Vine yesterday said, that he had three goals for this race: win the TTT, win stage 6, and help Almeida to win the Vuelta. Now it's time to achieve the final one.

So going by that, he normally shouldn't have any more personal goals - but who knows, sure. Maybe UAE wants someone up the road anyway.

In 2005, Liberty Seguros completely blew the race apart in the early slopes of Cerler, but still there were no time differences between the favorites at the top. Not expecting too much.

He said that? I think it would be strange not going for this stage and KoM as well. Well, perhaps his goals have changed now, who knows.
