He wasn't scheduled for the Vuelta until Pog noped out after the Tour.

His original schedule included Pologne, so he should have had some sort of form. But yes, that's different from what's needed for a GT.

Good mentality from Almeida to test if Vingegaard is undercooked.

Having said that, if you have good legs and want to go for it it would help if your two best climbing domestiques weren't yoloing somewhere in the breakaway. Don't really understand UAEs mindset, on a climb like that you need more than a 2 minute leadout from Soler to make a difference.

Not very impressed by the climbing of the favourites so far. Vingegaard looks pretty easy but if he doesn’t attack today then you’ve got to wonder if he’s not feeling the best.
