Of course, the other thing is that a GT can be won anywhere, and any place to gain time is a valid one. Eddy Merckx won the 1974 Giro because José Manuel Fuente had the hunger knock and lost a lot of time on an intermediate stage into San Remo with a flat finish; Fuente had been kicking Merckx's cannibalistic behind all over the mountains.

I forgot where I read this/heard this but some journalist managed to say/write, after Sky's disastrous TTT, "in a 3000km race, 42 seconds won't matter in the long run."

Oh God, ITV4 was ok until Matt Keenan came on. He is so boring, Phil & Paul would be better than this.

He is just talking about what we can all see, anyone can do that.

Haha, Katusha's furious pace have left all the other team's bottle getters (hello, Levi) stuck in the second group 30 seconds behind.... Yep, that's a great evil plan. Leave your opponents dehydrated

Prudehomme is apparently here, eager to see this stage.

Has he got any ideas for the Tour next year then.

A climb that goes above 7% maybe:eek:

This is more than a bit naughty from Katusha, given there was an unavoidable holdup, on the climb and the fact that they'd only have to hold off the gas for a minute or so.
There are still 55kms to go, as well.

Andalucia guy struggling to keep Haussler's pace in the break.

I know, i know, picking on Andalucia is getting old... I'll stop for now... maybe

Does anyone know Palomares' palmares?

Apologies to anyone who's done that one already. And to everybody else too.
