I have to say, the crowd on the climb isn't too bad, looks like many of them did the climb before the race.
The whole area looks interesting, but I can image that the wind can be nasty, pretty much no shelter.

Ganna 2018 seems to be a clear improvement over Ganna 2017. Looking forward to the time trial.
Usually yes an he seems to be in great shape, but he has aways suffered in the heat, so I don't know what to expect.

gaviria isn't in the best shape here so relax, he will improve until san remo. But I still don't think he will be able to fight for the win on cobbled classics.

What happened to Gaviria? Was that climb too hard for him? Doesn't bode well for a guy who is supposed to be the next dominant force in classics
I don't know what precisely happened to him. He was well positioned in the approach and in the first ramps, so he made the selection.
For some reason, Narvaez attacked with 3 to go and then everything broke loose, then it was Majka, then Benoot with 2.7Km to go (the ramp finished at 2.6 and the gap was merely 2 seconds). They didn't focus too much in the peloton during the downhill section but it appears that Narvaez was once again leading the group.
The little hill was 95m high with 1.3km long which gives an average of 7.3% (averaging Benoot and Narvaez activities on strava)
