I'm not sure I follow the criticism of Quintana I'm reading from some people following today's stage. Contador tried a couple of accelerations, which Nairo covered without issues. How is this 'wheelsucking'? What was he supposed to do instead? He knew he wasn't going to drop anyone important on a climb like this, were you expecting him to waste energy just to make you happy?
Everything but soloing from 200km out is wheelsucking when you dislike a rider and you have no other way of expressing it.
It depends. You never saw stybar taking a race (a semi classic, or classic, or monument.) by the horns. You never saw him try even a little attack against the favorites in those races. All that you remember of him against the true champions is sucking sucking wheel sucking.

Purito following wheels is a sign he's back to being good old purito!

It's easy to all be a Contador fan ;)

Not my fault that i've been a fan at the time when he wasn't a well know GT winner or anything for that matter. Doesn't change the fact that purito is a disgusting wheelsucker

I find it funny how I was banned 1 week for trolling/baiting in the AC-thread, while this behaviour among Contador-fans are completely accepted by the mods. I really hope they will be fair in the future and treat everyone the same..

Why always go ad hominem? My opinion on riders is always based on their race as it should be imo. Maybe i'm harsh but does that mean it justifies you go ad hominem and try to analyze my childhood?

Don't you think that's going way too far? just think about it for a sec. You just said i had a terrible childhood cause i called your rider a wheelsucker which is a fact too.

Hilarious xD

Of course not. Because everything is a matter of interpretation. So also my reaction.

We all know Purito is no Sagan. Or Cancellara. Or Contador. But i never said he races the way those guys do. And not every rider is capable of riding that way.

But a disguisting wheelsucker is wat too harsh. You know that too. For a 'disguisting wheelsucker', he has quite some solo wins: Lombardia (2x), Orio, Plateau de Beille, Digne-les-bains, Spanish title in 2007, stages in Dauphine. But also the way he rode in Firenze, Vuelta 2011 and 2014.

And of course he made some mistakes during his career. And plenty of times he rode too defensive and cowardly. He *** up the Giro of 2012. But still he has done too much to just call him the way you did.

You can dislike him, sure. But showing no respect at all is no class imo. Not everyone has the capacities and mindset of someone like Contador. But that's cycling, sports, life in general. There's diversity, and because of that diversity, certain riders can transcending the mass.

So my apologies for my reaction, and i think you think the same about your post ;)

Interesting final climb tomorrow. In theory it should be hard enough for the GC climbers to get rid of the Mur de Huy guys, but only if it is ridden very hard right from the bottom.

Very interesting final in tomorrow's stage, indeed. I won't be able to go see it live, as it's quite far and I have a busy morning/midday tomorrow. But I'll watch it on TV and I'm looking forward to commenting on here with all of you.

I don't know why, I believe maybe GC riders will be a bit scared to be shown up by the tremendously hard finish and won't try it from the bottom, and that might give some others a chance (Vuillermoz, Yates...), but if they go hard for it from the start, then it will be a faceoff between GC men. It's hard to think Contador will be a bit scared to try after seeing how lively he looked today, but anything can happen.

Very interesting and decisive stage tomorrow.

Martin should be dropped unless they are riding very conservatively. But Henao and Purito (hopefully in shape) are going to be much harder to drop. Those two could very well be the best on the climb.

Lot of people here are more holligans than cycling lovers, or cycling experts.

Quintana won Pais Vasco without any attack. He did a very good ITT at the end and no more. That is correct, he won, so he did what he had to, but that is maybe criticable today winning at the end or no.

But today was just a first stage, Contador is more explosive, he tried to see who riders are better, no more, Quintana did what he had to do. if he never attack in Arrate could be becouse he has not a good day, other way he will do or it will be criticable. But Contador has conditions that make him more agressive, it is not character, it is features

Taking your point as a reference, the only lads that deserve love and respect in cycling are contador, Nibs, Cance, Sagan and maybe froome sometimes with all others being pathetic wheelsuckers who kill the Show. Really difficult Outlook to live with imo. I Might be wrong but forum members exactly from benelux tend to handle the things like that While fans from other countries tend to be more lenient to riders as a rule . Presumably it
Is Any kind of national mentality and supporters Prone to being extremely selective at their sympathies.

What stages will you see live? Will it rain tomorrow?

I hope we won't have an outsider winning tomorrow, some of the big guys should win. I want to see who is the strongest. Quintana looked well today, didn't really watch the stage, but seemed like he just covered Contador. His sickness can't possibly be that bad then I assume, but tomorrow will tell. I say Contador wins ahead of Henao and Quintana, in what order I don't know. I think Rodriguez will to very well as well, wouldnt be surprised to see him here. Also disappointed that Bardet doesn't race, its a perfect race for him. Curious of how Landa is, I think and hope for a top-20, maybe 30.

It seems that tomorrow the rain will mostly be in the morning, so maybe dry race with a wet road. Wednesday seems to be very dry, Thursday could have some rain, mostly in the afternoon so the end of the stage would be affected. Friday could be an interesting day rain all the day and low temperatures, we won't see snow but it won't be too far high, so the riders could face quite a cold weather mostly in the hills and with rain. Saturday seems to be another rainy day.

That's the current forecast

Contador should win it tomorrow by 20 seconds. Maybe 30 seconds but that depends if quintana is gonna wheelsuck him hard in the beginning which he prob will
What  no way

Why are you confused? This is the most likely scenario unless they are playing mind games and it comes down to the final k.
There is a chance he wins (I don't think he's the main fave) but 20s ahead, never. I would love to be wrong of course

On such steep gradients we will see these kind of gaps. If Quintana and Contador can't drop a rider like Dan Martin, they are doing their job wrong.

And there was a post earlier with someone linking to a tweet where the poster called Quintana a virus ...in answer to the question

I didn't expect anything from this stage, and I got more than I thought. A feisty Bertie, a really good descent by Pinot, but tomorrow is when we'll learn more. I can't wait.

Yeah, I don't get this "[x rider] is a wheelsucker!" talk either. Are you ever allowed to sit on someone's wheel?

If you mean the tweet in Spanish then I think you misunderstood. It said: Nairo's "virus" is called "wheelsucking".
