Why have they let Landa go

Contador and Quintana each have a teammate, so they're just gonna work on the front until the last climb. Of course Landa has a teammate too so it's Visconti & Kreuziger vs. Lopez. Good position for Sky, but not a bad position for Tinkoff and Movistar.

Still, Tour of Flanders is a lesson in why it's good to go with the moves rather than trust your teammates to keep it close. But it's not just about the day here - Landa will probably lose time in the TT so if they give him 30-40 seconds it's not the end of the world, even if they don't pull it back today.
I doubt Landa will lose that much time in the TT...

It's a hilly TT, not an uphill TT. I mean, I don't know what kind of Skyvoodoomagicsportsscience has happened in the winter, but normally Landa would lose a minute on the non-uphill parts of that TT.

Landa will go nucular on the last climb and the GC is over regardless of the TT tomorrow.
Yeah, so stupid that they let him go like that

?

They are, like, right behind him.
I am not watching & tried to post that a while ago but it said "wait 60 seconds" or whatever

Ah, I see. Yeah it's a gamble to let Landa go but a small one. He got given some leash on the stage that he won, and then he got dropped on two climbs on the next climbing day. And he's normally a horrible TTer. So I'm not convinced he's a threat, much as I like him.
