It was Simon - Adam did a power of work in the last 2 climbs.

No rain now. Cloudy and wet roads but no rain.

Everyone was very nice. I'll say more after, Contador was a boss today again with everyone.
Can you say more about this now you're back? :)

You should know by now that we live in a world without justice.

Tell that to those guys in Panama, enjoying that bank

País Vasco is all about explosiveness. So if you can follow an explosive attack of Contador near the top, it's a good sign.
If that was an explosive attack I am the queen of England.

:D
I barely agree. Eheh

It was only one of his classical attack to see if there's someone in trouble...or strecht the legs , as you prefer. In my opinion , nothing relevant has happen.
The real test will be tomorrow , finger crossed !

I fear that Nairo will neutralize every move Contador makes allowing an outsider to take the win. He was glued to his wheel today.

He will be dropped tomorrow.., Contador will go full gas from the bottom. No outsider is gonna take this!

Every single time I've been to pre-race parkings and he's been riding that race in the Basque Country, he goes out of the team bus before the rest of the team, because there is a lot of people waiting there, for a picture, or just some words or whatever; and he doesn't do what others do, that's just tell the people he doesn't have time and don't talk nor sign autographs, nor take pictures...

He always has some old friends who rode with him in his amateur days or someone he might know there too; so he spends a lot of time talking to people, etc. And this year, in a very small place like Etxebarria there was a lot less people, but I've seen this in places with more people like Eibar or Gasteiz too.

The first thing everyone told him was something like: "Bad weather eh?" and he didn't seem too bothered, told us all "well, it's not Pais Vasco if it doesn't rain, is it?". Overall he seems like a very nice and down to earth guy. So does Purito who is always joking, today he was talking too much in the signing place and started the race a minute later than the rest laughing.

Henao seemed to be very nice too, but I wasn't around him too much today.

Why are you confused? This is the most likely scenario unless they are playing mind games and it comes down to the final k.

To consider him the main favourite for the Tour maybe yes, although this is a very different race.

It is a good climb for him, but I dont think so... 20 secon to everybody?. If Purito is not good, as he looked today (but you never know, maybe he is good, Contador could win the stage, but IMO he wont drop Quintana. It wiil be a good figh from the teams to put them well at the begining of the climb.

Tomorrow is similar to Mende. so we have lot of references.

There is a chance he wins (I don't think he's the main fave) but 20s ahead, never. I would love to be wrong of course

Great insight into the pro-peloton. Thx!

Purito and Contador are just great guys. They are in the media the same as they are in real life.

Are there riders who are not that nice btw?

On such steep gradients we will see these kind of gaps. If Quintana and Contador can't drop a rider like Dan Martin, they are doing their job wrong.

How do you know Purito was not good today? He could follow the attacks of Contador, with 9 other GC guys.

I don't see any reason to think he's not good. But also not that he's in super shape tbh.

Well, both actually finished in the front group.

I'm not sure if it still holds true but Simon tends to sport white glasses and white socks. Adam goes for darker glasses and dark socks. Both put in a heck of a shift today.

Also, I talked to Felline after the stage; another very nice guy who seems to not know nohing else than "**** man" in English. He told me he started the first climb up front thinking he would go easy today and finished it in the back of the peloton struggling really bad; then after the second he started feeling better. He also said he believes he is at Gerrans' level in a finish of this style; that Gerrans went from far away today and he was a bit too relaxed because he thought Luis Leon and Dani were much further.
Nice to hear. I reckon he's going to be better and better as the race progresses. Could be an outsider for the TT too.

Adam has (some kind of) a beard.

I'm not sure I follow the criticism of Quintana I'm reading from some people following today's stage. Contador tried a couple of accelerations, which Nairo covered without issues. How is this 'wheelsucking'? What was he supposed to do instead? He knew he wasn't going to drop anyone important on a climb like this, were you expecting him to waste energy just to make you happy?

Everything but soloing from 200km out is wheelsucking when you dislike a rider and you have no other way of expressing it.

Purito following wheels is a sign he's back to being good old purito!

It's easy to all be a Contador fan ;)

Not my fault that i've been a fan at the time when he wasn't a well know GT winner or anything for that matter. Doesn't change the fact that purito is a disgusting wheelsucker
