Just saw Remco did a full recon of this stage at 47kph a few hours ago according to his Strava. That seems like a significant energy expenditure for noon on a race day even for him but maybe it’s just that easy for him.

For drafting benefits it’s probably not such a great effect catching a rider in the climb? Much better to catch him when the speed is higher, right?
With the difference in speed he'd need to brake to draft him, which defeats the benefit of drafting.

Tailwind in the way back to Valladolid benefits aero riders.
Funny boy: I'm glad you stopped posting out of spite or trauma for being constantly banned.

This is from the CN live ticker:

Interestingly, the wind is expected to ba tail wind on the ride back to Valladolid.
That could be a factor and an advantage for very aero riders like Evenepoel.

I don't do TTs, but is a recon at 85-90% of your race speed all that taxing?

I wonder if we will be sat here later on seeing 'Vingegaard -23' at the first time check again just assuming that the timechecks are wrong.
Lol. Yeah, no way today, I reckon he will lose about 1 min to the winner today whether that being Ganna or Remco.

The higher the speed the more benefit you get further away right? So I’m the process from being 50 meters behind, working your way up on his wheel and fly past him is still not done in just 2 seconds, so the benefit should be there even at high speeds (especially on a more or less straight road)
