If you win a mountain stage in your first race in four months, you're form is already quiet good i suppose. He doesn't get a lot of chances to lead a team in a GT of course.

I would agree with you on Horner if he had won that stage in Burgos. But he didn't, it was in Utah. Which didn't have the highest level of competition. He'll find it much harder to repeat similar feats against guys like Nibali, Valverde, Henao, Betancur, and others.

I don't think so, Majka is the team-leader for Saxo. He has a chance to finish in the top 5, Roche was in his prime days as a GT contender worth a 7th place in the Vuelta. Not good enough i suppose to give a real chance for GC.

This is the reason I asked about roche.

Any good rider in the wild card entries, who could make top 20?

König, Arroyo (even a 10th place is possible), Edet

RoboBasso's got da killa lookz

Despite Valverde downplaying his chances, I see him like a top contender.
Purito very close to him.
Sky's Colombians and Basques behind the top duo.
Nibali with the best on a couple of stages he chooses, and Basso to fight for the top 10.

Strong Euskaltel-selection. My main question: Sanchez still able to do a podium? I have actually no idea how strong he is..

I guess nobody has haha.

No definitely not. Sanchez isn't good enough for a three week GT anymore, this years Giro showed it. Perhaps a stage win is possible, but in terms of GC a 7th or 8th place is the best he can get. Also in Burgos he was good on the short uphill finishes, but was nowhere on the Laguinas de Neila.

I think he can still be good in the classics and one week races though, don't forget he is already 35.
