I love stage 11, and then stage 12 is ALMOST perfect for an ambush. They just need a category 2 climb in the first 50 kms....

Im getting worried about my man Jaime Roson, this Vuelta should be his breakout performance but last few races hes been abysmal. Anyone know if hes sick or injured?

It's funny. Stage 17 for example which finishes at the wonderfully named Los Machucos. Monumento Vaca Pasiega at 880m is mountain. But nothing beats Escartin comment "La Vuelta winner may be determined at the Alto de l'Angliru, as was the case in 2011 between Bradley Wiggins and Juanjo Cobo."

I also just realised Los Machucos is ESP, they certainly aint underrating the climb before the riders will tackle it...

That's a tough cat 3.

Los Machucos at the end with 2 scenarios:

7.3 kms @ 8.66%
5.8 kms @ 11.3% (Cutting the garbage flat at the end and beginning)

That's a tough cat 3.

Thats especially funny since Cumbre del Sol is a first category climb while being 3.75 km long and 10.3% steep. Surely harder than the climb of stage 5 but no idea how the difference can be two categories.
Kinda reminds me on the first mtf of the 2015 vuelta, when Chaves won in front of Dumoulin after Quintana attacked and was surprisingly dropped by these two riders who back then weren't really known as big gc threats. That was, because of reasons, also only a 3rd category climb.

Would these Vuelta maps have official start times and rough finish times? I'm gonna be in Orapesa Del Mar on holiday with family so gonna try and escape for a few hours and see the start of stages 5 and 6 and try and get to the finish of stage 5.

I'm still hoping he will return for this year's Vuelta. He's only 9 kilo's above his ideal racing weight

I hope Chaves will be in good shape but I'm worried the Tour-Vuelta combo is going to turn out to be a bad idea. Back-to-back GTs doesn't work for too many guys.
