I am not sure about the break making it. It could have been considerably stronger. I thought also Astana or Movistar would have been represented for the team competition. Maybe they nullified each other.
Sky are unlikely to chase them down, so it's up to other teams to chase them down, but I'm not sure they will. Bahrain could push the pace once we get to the climbs, but that will probably be too little too late to actually bring the break back.

I want to see Enric, Atapuma, Majka and Bardet in the break.
Lame break lacking riders with climbing abilities will kill me.

I'm afraid Majka has no legs. No shape in this race.
He was decent on Xorret del Cati, and even if he'd bad he's better than some

Decent? He was fighting for the win and still lost on the ascent exactly 1'30 to the group (no hopes of victory) of Nibali, Zakarin, Poels, Chaves...
Did you watch the way Majka and Alaphilippe rode that climb? No wonder Majka lost a lot of time to the front group when he was attacking and slowing down all the time. He's not in bad shape at all. If he hits the break and it is allowed to go away, I see very few riders (of those who are allowed to go in a break) capable of beating Majka.

I watched it twice just to check the time he lost to the GC contenders.
And Majka with legs didn't manage to drop Alaphilippe?
But ok, maybe you are right about Xorret stage but exactly after 3rd stage (lost 2'30) there was no information about his stomach problems. And before Vuelta he didn't believe in his shape at all.

Bad news for Sunweb: Sam Oomen has become ill. So Kelderman will probably be without helpers quickly.
Sad, he was doing well.

For today: Enric Mas Nicolau will win this bike race
No, that is reserved for Sierra Nevada where Contador will catch Mas but gift him the stage win.

If Majka wins, then De Clercq has to finish 6th or better or else Majka is indeed 7 times as good as De Clercq.

I'm not quite sure how the math works here, but if he finishes 7th from 10 or worse, that's not a great sign in this company.

Hey now. Let's not make fun of the truth.

Alberto, of the houses Contador and Velasco, First of His Name, Lord of the Grand Tours, Protector of Old School Racing, will win this bike race

BRILLIANT!!! If it was 2014 it would happen. Today it is fingers crossed!

If Majka doesn't win he would compete only with Rojas for the title of The Most Pathetic Rider.
He's only one who has private dom for the job, 12km @ 7% perfectly suits him...
yes indeed

Oomen abandoned after illness

So sad, he was doing so well. Kelderman without his master helper now.
