Lopez or Contador to win, Froome to finish with Nibali 15 seconds back. Later to declare that he was never at risk of being dropped. Poels to come in 6th on stage.

Self serving reply, swap Nibs with Poels and pretty close

At least Nibali can take comfort in knowing that his team performed very well and will probably be even better next year.

Thank god Alberto attacked on the descent. I doubt he could have beaten the skyborgs.

True, but on the other hand i think he would also have been faster while riding with the group. But my guess would have been on Zakarin level.

Now where's Astana?
Asking the real questions :D
My guess is, not as far behind as it could have been. I don't think the pace on the Angliru was very high.

God I dislike Poels and Froome so much.

Im sure they wouldn't care for you either but not sure they would be bothered right now. Plenty to celebrate. Contador winning his last GT mountain stage and the double for Froome and Sky.

That's a reason to weap.

Poels was almost freewheeling on the freaking Angliru. This farce will last another decade.

Excellent day. Both CF and AC fans are cheering. :)
In a similar way to Mont Ventoux 2000 with Pantani and Armstrong fans ;)

Yes, his main helper on the climbs, Pellizotti, will be better next year...

Kelderman must have blown up completely, not sure how Nibali got past him.
Kelderman tried everything to follow Zakarin, because Zak only needed 12 seconds. He blew up obviously. But if he wouldn't try and finish with Nibali he would lose podium anyway.

All or nothing. It ended with nothing. Although I think Kelderman is still happy with 5th.

Contador attacked from far out and rode the 4th fastest ascent with a headwind
No... poels and froome were faster...
I'm talking about today

Surely Poels and Froome were faster today, Alberto started the climb with a bigger advantage than he finished?

In the end he did a very good Vuelta. Froome stronger than in Le Tour and, as we all know literally from another planet.
