In other news, Gianni Moscon finished 13th.

Let that settle in for a minute.

Gianni Moscon. Thirteenth. On the Angliru.
Next year three of the best climbing domestiques for Froome will probably be Thomas, Kwiat and Moscon. Two of them have already won a WT cobbles classic and the other one is 23 and finished 5th in paris roubaix this year.

For some reason this makes me think of when Devolder finished 11th at the Vuelta. Moscon likely could have done something similar if racing for himself.

Devolder won minutes in a break, though
5th up the Verbier in 2008 TdS

I didn't say he can't climb, I pointed out he won minutes in a break

God I dislike Poels and Froome so much.

Why? Mixed emotions.
On the one side, they gifted the stage, but on the other side did they have to make it so evident in the last 2km? Couldnt they just keep following Pelizzoti and then later Zakarin?

The gift was evident earlier, before last 2km.
