Rabo's TTT selection looks good, except for Gesink. He's improved his TT a lot, but WC requires specialists. I would take Jos van Emden over Gesink any day.

What about Machado? iZnoGouD not happy :D

Machado has had problems with the national coach in the past so unless he had done something really special at the vuelta he was always going to lose his place to pires who rode a great vuelta working for contador.

paulinho seems in amazing shape, prolly the best he has been since 06 when he finished 16th at the vuelta with a stage win while working for vino. and he has a lot of experience so he should be there with costa until things really start to heat up.

andre cardoso is great on this type of races, his selection wasn't even up to discussion. he finished top 20 in both mendrisio and geelong even tho he was racing in portugal at the time where stages rarely go over 180k and where his last race before the worlds had been the volta in early august.

now that he has gained experience riding in europe and comes off the vuelta in top shape, it wouldn't surprise me to see him doing very well with a top 10, top 15 result.

Michael Matthews, Simon Gerrans, Simon Clarke, Michael Rogers, Heinrich Haussler, Allan Davis, Adam Hansen, Richie Porte and David Tanner

Dont know about the Time Trial, anybody knows?

Durbridge and Meyer according to CA website

I'm assuming the GB selection will be made after the TOB.

I'd go with:

Wiggins, Froome, Tiernan-Locke, Thomas, Cavendish, Swift, Stannard

And then another two from: Cummings, Kennaugh, Dowsett, Rowe, Blythe, Hunt and Fenn.

I don't have any expectations of even a top 10 placing but hoping for a nice surprise.

As for the TTT, what kind of jersey (if any) would the team be entitled to wear for the following year. And would that jersey belong to the team or to the riders that took part? And if they moved teams from the winning TTT team what would happen?

No special jersey. The winning Pro Team is allowed to place a special mark on their jersey the next year.

Sky's team for the TTT: Dowsett, Boasson Hagen, Flecha, Henao, Stannard and Thomas

That's a horrible team, no chance whatsoever of a podium. Weird considering their ambitions at the start of the year of winning said race, but then people assumed they'd send at least one of their 4 best TT'ers (Wiggins, Froome, Porte, Rogers).

And come on, Henao? I know he's probably better in a TTT than in an ITT as he's quite punchy, but still...

I doubt Pablo Lastras and Samuel Sanchez will become fit in time for the WC. Also can't see Castroviejo do much. Valverde is probably the big favorite alongside Phil. Teams will be a big factor, who will co-operate the best?
