Sky's team for the TTT: Dowsett, Boasson Hagen, Flecha, Henao, Stannard and Thomas

That's a horrible team, no chance whatsoever of a podium. Weird considering their ambitions at the start of the year of winning said race, but then people assumed they'd send at least one of their 4 best TT'ers (Wiggins, Froome, Porte, Rogers).

And come on, Henao? I know he's probably better in a TTT than in an ITT as he's quite punchy, but still...

It's a pretty average team but I don't remember Sky ever saying this was a big target for them?

Is it a target for anyone? Bit pointless in my opinion.

Worlds should be solely about nations. Bringing a trade team event into the equation is stupid in many respects. Not least logistically, with nations staying together etc - using team busses...

The ttt doesnt hurt though (other than the athletes). It will be an entertaining few hours.

Whatsmore the ttt is an art and it will be nice to see it in a setting where it doesnt have a negative impact on the gc.

Gives the host city an extra race and more riders the chance to experience the worlds.

With teams rather than nations, it gives more people a chance. If it was nations youd see people like Cancellara - best tter in the world, without a chance even.

I think GreenEdge have been preparing for it quite well and presumably Garmin too.

Agree. It's nice they added it to the WC, allthough I think UCI might use it bring in trade teams into the WC for the road race as well. Eventually....
Let's hope not!

Cav is the defending champion... it's easy to forget, I know, but it's true.

Swift is a sprinter who can survive hills, it's worth the try. Britain don't have any real classics specialists.

Well I was well aware that he is the defending champion, but a little bit of realism wouldn't hurt. Better bring Thomas instead of him or a good domestique. Allthough I expect Cav to do domestique work for GB else it really is pointless.

Swift can indeed handle a few hills, but this is an 260k race with 2 hills in it every lap. I'd be incredibly surprised if he's still in the bunch with 220km to go.
