Nice, BMC got it. Dillier had the lactic acid coming out of his ears.

Dennis out of this world.

Shame Velits wasn't in that selection. He would have had 4th gold medal in TTT...

Yeah, he won the first 3. 2 with Quickstep and last year with BMC. Even though he was never the "star" of the squad.

No sursprises in the end for the podium. But 5 and 6 for Giant and Lotto NL, well done.

I'll put my money on Dennis for the TT, Dumoulin seems also in shape after the Vuelta. I think it will be between him, Martin and Malori for the other podium spots.

2nd place for Etixx again. Interesting.
This year has been full of 2nds. Sagan would have been perfect on this team.
I think they still have the most wins of any of the Pro-Tour teams though.

I think Dumoulin contributed big time to Giant's performance. He must be in great shape. Although Dennis always seems to be peaking on the right moments. Great rider.

Movistar and BMC have two great tters

Etixx only have 1 great tter in tony
Actually I think Etixx had a better team around Tony than BMC did around Dennis. It was Kwiato and Uran in front up that hill for EQS, while Rohan had to pull all the way up and to the line for BMC. I think Tony just isn't 100%. Vedremo.

For a team that focuses on this discipline, OGE are ****.

Tbh right now they just like the firepower to compete. You can focus on it, but if the riders ain't strong enough you can't win.

They were pretty bad, but all the other teams have high quality ITTers> Dennis/Phinney, Martin/Uran/Kwiatowski, Malori/Dowsett/Castrajevo compared to Durbridge (as the best individually). I'd even rate Kung, Terpstra, Izaggire and a few others higher. It was that class that shone through, along with the fact that Bewley being dropped so early limited their ride.

LOL Phinney - "Rohan is the anchor of the team" :p
He meant as in being the strongest rider around which the rest of the team tried to hang on to. Just like Cancellara or Wiggins anchors a team that they are the strongest in.

Dennis for gold in the TT.

Indeed. If I'd put money on a rider it's him.

Yeah, he's looking very good indeed.
I'm afraid he'll struggle with the distance.
Isn't the ITT only 38.8km like the TTT? If so, he should be right up there. If it's 50km + then 3rd-5th.

Edit: I see that the ITT is 53kms. Why wasn't the TTT this long?

An anchor is something that is meant to stop you from moving, so I thought Phinney's words were quite funny too.

Anyway, yesterday happened like I expected - except for the last quarter.
I expected BMC to start enthusiastically and fast, and fade towards the end, and Etixx to overtake them there. It seemed to be happening exactly like that, with their lead at the third intermediate down to 5.5 seconds, but then somehow they pulled it back together and even gained more ground again, despite losing riders earlier and having to do the entire climb and finishing straight with 4 guys. I was really surprised with how that unfolded.
