I apologize up front if this has already been asked or discussed before.
I did a search and came up with 20+ pages. After looking through the
first 3-4 I decided it might be easier (for me anyway) if I just started a
thread.

My question: After reading the thread on the possibility of a return of
pro cycling to Colorado it has my interest piqued about cycling in other
areas besides where I currently reside.

Is there a website that discusses different areas to ride in regards to not
only terrain but traffic and all the other factors that add up to an enjoyable
riding experience?
What I am looking for here is more specifics than say "Colorado" or
"the smoky mountains". More like road names, city names et al.
Or even the "map my ride" ilk where you have actual maps of said riding
areas.

Or I guess if you have a favorite ride and you have it mapped out and have
the ability to share that with everyone/me I would love to see that too just
like benpounder did on the second page of the above mentioned thread.

Thanks for any help!!

So far I have spent most of my time at the Bikely site. A very good one
indeed. Thanks again Race Radio.

RDV4ROUBAIX that Rapha site looks like a good one too.
I can see myself spending hours reading all that they have written.
Thanks for that one.

There used to be a great stage race in CA in & around the town of Mammoth.
I raced the last year and it was won by Scott Moninger. Anyway it is very challenging in that area and beautiful and not alot of traffic.
The first stage started in Bishop CA and ended at the ski lodge in Mammoth. It was called Altitude 9000 because that was the elevation of the ski lodge. The main climb was Sherwin grade which goes for something like 15 miles.
Anyway there are alot of great rides in the area of Mammoth, so i would defintely recommend the place as one of the best places to ride in the US
