So lets take the three riders involved to a basement somewhere and apply a bit of sweet talk....

No need for that really. Just bring in Bruynell as freelance, heard he's looking for a job anyway. He will use the lie detector test; Look the riders in the eyes and ask whether they are doping or not. Then you will have your answer:)

According to the Original source, the vial tag has a bar code- that is "traceable" if its readable- even with a few digits it can give an indication of a country of fabrication....

Here it comes:

I'm not entirely clear on what your issue with RF is? He feels it likely most of the top guys dope. He wishes it weren't the case. Suspicion of doping does not automatically make him dislike a rider, as he notes a number of factors that influence his "like" (e.g. riding style, personality, etc.). I don't actually see a problem.

Do not see why it would have had to come from a rider...could've dropped from a car...spectator..could've been there for a year..

and the label "TEST PRODUCT"
gheez...might have well said "ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE" :roll eyes:

as usual what could have been an interesting discussion gets turned into a playpen throwing brawl

Cyclingweekly needed another story and CN forums needed another topic to discuss. :D

I agree people can go over board, but I'm still curious as to what this thingabajing is. It's interesting to see what (some) people are saying....

Maybe 99% of the peloton got the memo, but there will always be some idiot looking to prove themselves who thinks that they can get away with anything.

I don't know. I've seen the "But they would never be THAT dumb" argument fail enough times to believe riders would do just about anything.

Ricco as Exhibit A?

I'd wager is was from any of the party-goers on the side lines more than any rider...

Doping, in the mid 2010's is a conspiracy. They may have ridden around with drugs in his pockets, but after Festina, Puerto, Landis, Armstrong, etc no one is going to do it.

Dopers will be found through the occasional slip up or police raids, not drugs being found in race.

not in a vial that has a label that says 'DRUGS' on it anyway.

this is hilarious. Even back in Voet's day pills would be embedded into energy bars. The thoughts of a rider in this day and age carrying something like this around with them is laughable.

I know most riders missed college or dropped out but a tube marked Test Product?
Some pranksters are having a laugh.

Doping is illigal in France, so if you want to be useful: hand the possible evidence over to the nearest Police officer. If you want to entertain yourself, you can scan the bar code before you hand it over.

If you only want to be a dufus Brit however, post a pic on Twitter, but omit the bar code. Does he expect Cookson, ASO or a rider to pay him to make it go away?

Yes there's no way on earth a Frenchie would have picked it up and taken a picture of it and put it on the internet, they would have been straight onto a gendarme.

Lucky it was a dufus Brit and not a corrupt Italian, or a sneaky Spaniard, or a boring German, or a sexually-liberal Dutchman, or a cowardly Swiss, or an arrogant American, or a cultureless Aussie, anything number of culturally stereotypical things could have happened.

That vial is the cycling equivalent of a thief wearing a stripey shirt, a mask and carrying a large bag marked 'SWAG'.

And found by veterinarian students right? Sounds like a prank to me.
