What piques my interest the most at the moment, is that someone, somewhere out there, knows exactly what this is. So why the silence?
If it's nothing, then put all the speculation to rest.
If it's "something," then both a rider and his team know that, and they better have a damn good explanation. This story has gotten enough traction that the silence is more incriminating than anything else at the moment.
If it did fall from a rider's jersey, they're only digging themselves a hole by keeping silent about it.
If the whole thing is a farce, then Brampton is going to lose more than just his credibility.
Now, of course, the ball is in the UCI's corner. Cookson would do well to follow through on this as quickly and thoroughly as possible.
