I think it was the former. The poster formerly known as 'oboingo' has been erased.

Can we let Dr Maserati come back now?

He has served his time. Lets just move on and forget what happened and remember that he was a positive contributor to the forum.

There may have been many positive contributions, but in my very humble opinion his trolling vortices (or vortexes as you may prefer) were continually disruptive to any type of a civilised conversation.

As an aside, I do not know if any moderators have received a request from the late Doctor to excise his ban and resume posting. Perhaps he does not want to rejoin this august forum.

That episode continues to be a disgrace. Not that it matters, but my humble opinion is pretty much the opposite of yours.

Regardless, why would Maserati want to come back? Those that ran him off are all still here and I'll bet none of them regret their decision.

And how did Berzin ever become a Mod?

Nice show of support from forum members. 84.4% of posters believe Dr. Maserati should not have been permanently banned. 85%!

Dr. Maserati was one of the best unbiased sources of factual information (with links) in the Clinic. Miss that. Also appreciate the effort the doctor put into correcting monomaniacal posters’ inaccurate and misleading statements.

*RIP* Dr. Maserati (June 2009 to March 2014) :(

I haven't voted. since I don't know the full reasoning behind his ban. I miss his posts, and it's sad that he is not here. Though I suspect he had trouble accepting that the mods are fallible(perhaps childish, immature, power hungry etc), and perhaps kept a grudge when he felt treated wrongly instead of letting it go and move on.

I hope he, with the mods approval finds his way back to the forum.

Ditto.

And, should I vote, I wouldn't want my position known necessarily on something this personal - even if it were supporting his return. It comes across as a popularity contest, which is wrong.

Dave.

The Korean spam bot has left the building. Maybe conferring with Skybots for posting tips.

Anyway probably best to await a mod announcement.

the korean bot made more sense to me than most skybots. I say we should let him post.

You know you had a post deleted for this trolling the other day (and know I didn't report it), why do you persist with such childish behavoir

The mods should ban you for this trolling

It's a futile effort. I don't know if he has a free pass, like some who receives multiple last warnings, but this person, who many times accuses others of trolling, a specialist in demanding bans, and who asserts the forum is dying everytime a peer of his or himself are sent on forced temporary vacations, is himself ruining this place with this constant behaviour.

Sad.
