Guys you literary have an article from yesterday on where it says Pogi hasn't decided and announced yet if he will do Giro or Vuelta. In light of such article i don't know what more to say.

What happened here is classic roglstomp. Pogi was the first one to announce his schedule and he already raised his arm in the air but then suddenly Rogla came from behind and crossed the finish line first, with his decision and announcement. Decision that was made years back already. With calm and collected voice it was said Giro-Tour, on where Pogi said i haven't decided yet. The winner is hence clear and what we are seeing now is the same thing we seen after that Amstel Gold edition, on where the debate went on and on, about photofinish.

Pogi won't race the Giro and he was the first rider announcing he's schedule.

Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard, Remco Evenepoel, and PrimozRoglic, the biggest names in the peloton in terms of Grand Tour contenders may all race more than one grand tour in 2025. This is great news for cycling news, however, one question has now been answered: Primoz Roglic has officially confirmed his plan to race the Giro in 2025, followed immediately by the Tourde France.

If he doesn't crash in either of them I think he'll win the Giro, and then doesn't finish top 5 in the TDF because he'll be completely drained by the end of the Tour.

A very reasonable scenario. The double is just too hard, and Pog's accomplishment is just amazing.

Based on past GT results, Roglic has a 54% chance of finishing both races. But let's hope he can complete both this year.

When didn't Rogla finish in top 5, when going after GT GC and regardless if it was his first or second GT that season? That is obviously on when an injury didn't cause a DNF. So based on what are you predicting Rogla won't finish in top 5 at the Tour if he would to win Giro? History doesn't seem to back such claim.

How many GT’s did he ride completely after each other? So Giro-TDF or TDF-Vuelta, and finished both.

Giro-Tour is made by all time legends. Froome and Dumoulin did really well but they didn't bother Thomas at all. Other reason very important is how much time they had to recover after Giro in 2018. 6 weeks! For that reason the double was easier than ever and they still couldn't compete with Thomas.

So no examples. Not to mention other riders that have tried it, most of them have failed when it came to Giro-TDF.

No examples? Didn't we settle that one yet on where i said give me an example on when Rogla finished out of top 5 when going for a GT GC in the past seasons and when he didn't DNF.

The answer is 0 times so in my opinion that fact should answer it all.

Anyway currently we do have them at:

  • Rogla: decided and announced.
  • Pogi: hasn't decided and announced yet if he is doing Giro or Vuelta.
  • Jonas: hasn't decided and announced yet, hinting he is most likely all about the Tour.
  • Remco: hasn't decided and announced yet, beyond hinting he won't do Giro.

It's not about GT's only. Rogla hasn't decided lots of races. And Pogi won't do the Giro.

@AmRacer

In the Christmas calendar debate i was rather surprised on how GT racing was omitted completely. Especially after van der Poel not winning Vélo d'Or in 2023, on where the predominant argument was GT's are just on another level, when it comes to pro road cycling and as such van der Poel can basically never win Vélo d'Or.

Now in this thread the exact opposite argument is trying to be made, good luck with that.

Like the red calendar, it's not you who decides what's right or wrong. Start your own threads.
And Pogi won't ride the Giro.

If he wins the Giro, I’m not sure he would ride top 5 in TDF. Definitely not podium, he isn’t as good as the other 3. With fatigue of the Giro I can see other riders finish ahead of him too.
Pogacar, Vingegaard and I fail to see who is the other rider. Roglic won GTs in 2024, 2023. You are doing great overestimating Remco but calm down, first he needs to beat a healthy Roglic.
